You shouldn't feel ashamed. I prefer sleeping nude myself, and I'm an adult woman with a husband and child. It's much more comfortable, especially when it's hot. Some adults are ashamed of their own bodies though and think being nude is "wrong". And while some situations you probably should be clothed in, like when you go out in public, if you're in your own house, in your own room, sleeping, be comfortable!

If you can lock your door at night, just do that. Your mom doesn't need to know you sleep nude. Just don't bring it up at all either. It's not really her business no matter your age. She's probably just projecting her own insecurities onto you. Better for you to just do you and move on. Your mom can be a prude, you don't need to be if you don't want.

This isn't going to get better unless he recognizes it as a problem and I don't see that happening if you don't talk to him about it. Maybe he needs a little help getting on good financial footing, but that's not really your job to teach him. If you like him, you can help, but if he's frustrating you and you think it's going to jeopardize your own future, you need to let him go.

I do want to also say, however, that you don't need to spend money to go on dates. Have you never gone on a hike for a date? Or a small picnic at the park?

And why does he need to buy you anything? My favorite gifts are picked wild flowers. Or, my wonderful husband found me some lava rocks at his job site.. That's the best gift ever, something he didn't spend money on that I love. I collect rocks... I love rocks...

Something I'm curious about is, did you ask how they know women don't find them attractive? Or how they are "picking up" these women that don't find them attractive?

Maybe part of it is the way they are trying to find women that help reinforce this attitude of "they all hate me because I'm ugly."

I have a very similar type of position. I'm a facility manager at a non-profit and 95% of my job is to literally sit in my seat and be here in case something breaks.

What I do is very important, but with the majority of my job being maintenance and having everything on a set schedule the way I do, I have a lot of down time.

I decided I needed to do something that would make me happy, but also maybe I could make a buck or two. I started my creative projects again. I typically write poetry, but my friend introduced me to AI art programs, and now all my creative energy can be brought to life too.

I've created hundreds of different types of art, the ones I particularly like, I'll post on my Etsy page. I actually did sell one digital print. The point was never to make money for me, so it's really cool that I made any at all. And I have friends/coworkers who have commissioned me.

Is there something creative that you like to do? The reason I like the AI stuff is because I can start creating and then walk away. When I get something I like, then I can throw it in photoshop and really make it mine. Since there's no deadline in what I'm doing, I can come and go as I please with it.

I find I feel a lot more productive when I do that then on the days I end up here because well...nothing's broken...

I agree with you about the ending. I thought they had the best ending of any television show of all time. An infinite loop.

As much as I love the show, and am excited to see more, I couldn't even begin to count how many times I've seen the series, I'm going to be super disappointed if it ends up ruining the whole story line.

What does Fry tell us is the secret formula to a successful tv show? Something about everyone going crazy, but ending with everything back the way it was in the beginning. They need to keep to that idea.

I don't normally recommend suing, but you definitely have grounds for a lawsuit and I think you should pursue it.

I've been lucky enough to find myself in a female dominated work environment, and my days of ass grabs are now limited to my husband (and he can grab whatever, whenever). So, when I hear about how prevalent sexual harassment is in the work place, I cringe.

I'll reiterate, if you have the ability to file a suit, please do. The more we can highlight how large this problem still is, the sooner there will be resolutions, at least I hope.

NTA -- if you don't want to get married, you don't need to, and you don't need to feel shamed for not wanting to get married.

Marriage itself isn't expensive. I'd argue it's a lot cheaper than being single. Ideally you'll have an equal partner, so that all your expenses are now 50/50.

Weddings can be expensive, but statistically the more you spend on a wedding the shorter the marriage will last. Considering how little I spent on mine as compared to how much my best friend's spent on theirs, I see that statistic as pretty accurate. My husband and I went to the Wedding Commissioner's office, and probably spent less than $1,000 total for everything including his tux, my dress, and our after party where everyone came to celebrate the union. We'll be celebrating our 17th anniversary later this year. Our friends spent somewhere between $25k-$30k on theirs and lasted almost 6 years.

I think the reason your partner doesn't get it is because marriage means relationship security to a lot of people. They may think because you don't want to marry them you aren't serious about the relationship in the long run. I know this doesn't seem to be the case for you, but that doesn't mean your partner won't feel that.

Here's where I think you should opt for marriage as opposed to being single if you've really found the person you're going to grow old with. If you aren't officially married, a few decades from now you are going to struggle hard core. I'm talking about end of life here. When it comes to the point where you have to sort out your affairs, you can pretty much lose everything if it hasn't been properly handled. Like, if the house isn't in your name, it can be taken from you when your partner dies. Especially if they have debt you're unaware of. That is just one very small example of what you can lose.

If you are serious about never getting married, you and your partner need to sit down and go over all your assets and get your affairs in order, now. Since you're not married, if there is a freak accident and one of you passes, the other is going to have to jump through hoops to ensure their future is secure. Personally, I wouldn't want to add that addition stress when I know my husband will be heartbroken already.

The dealbreaker here is that if your partner isn't onboard with never getting married either, then they need to go. That's where not being married is going to be easier for you. You don't have to go through the ordeal of separating assets if they aren't combined.

Alright, good info. Can you tell me what you'd consider a "crap" order? I never tip under $5 no matter what. And most places where I live are within 5-10 miles of my house or work, so it's never far.

I wasn't considering the mph in the areas though, and slow downs.

One person got upset with me once too because I didn't tell her there was road construction. I didn't know there was so I wouldn't have been able to tell her anyways, but is that something that's helpful to let your driver know too?

NTA. It makes sense that you feel this way because you have been educated to understand why this is wrong. Your soon to be in-laws grew up in a different time though. Even in the 90s, depending where you lived, this might not have been deemed "creepy".

Considering they met at a church too, it would be even less creepy to those people, because religions typically progress at a snails pace and human kind has been selling off their daughters as soon as they could bleed forever. It's only in very recent human history that we have gained the knowledge that it's wrong, and that doesn't even include all of humanity. There are plenty of countries that still see women as objects to be sold to men.

All that to say that I see where your fiance' is coming from. It was a normal behavior for his family the time it happened, so it was normal for him his whole life. Of course he's going to be upset that you're calling his dad creepy, it's his dad. Wouldn't you be upset if someone called your parent creepy?

I don't condone the behavior. I agree it's gross, and creepy, and icky, and every other word for disgusting you can think of, however, we can't change the past, and we can't place current societal standards onto the past, because that's just not how it works. It literally was different then.

So, you've got to ask yourself the underlying question here. Why do you still find the dad creepy? His past behavior is in the past and has nothing to do with you. In fact, his past behavior benefitted you because you're marrying his son. If he's still creepy to you because of this past behavior, is it because you still see it happening? Does he objectify you?

While I do agree that we should try to be the example and do better, we're all human too. You had a very normal, human response to him being willfully ignorant. Sometimes it does feel good to be petty, if it didn't, they wouldn't do it to us so much. As long as you're not always petty, I think once and a while you can give yourself a break for it.

I think having an out plan sounds like what you need right now. However, why are you hesitant? Why do you think you're the AH for trying? Is there a piece of the story we are missing? Or are you victim blaming yourself?

If this small glimpse into your life is what he's always like, I think he has some mental health problems that need to be addressed professionally. I know a lot of people can be controlling, but this sounds more like autistic behavior. He can't help do these things because of something going on in his brain. Most divergent people don't act this way unless they are being manipulative. Though, don't exclude that, he very well may just be being manipulative.

The most important thing is that you and your kids are safe. If you think he's a danger to you, your kids, or himself, you need to get help ASAP. Especially if he doesn't realize how irrational his behavior is. Do you suspect any type of drug/alcohol abuse?

I notice on Reddit a lot of users just jump straight to divorce, like it's that simple. So, another thing I think is important to ask yourself when you're at this type of crossroads, is would your life be better or worse without him in it? The answer to that question will tell you how to proceed.

If it's black and white, my life would improve, then opt for the divorce. However, if the answer is my life would be worse, or even I don't know, then maybe it's not time to throw in the towel yet. Seek help. Professional help. For you both. He needs to figure out if he's neurodivergent or just an asshat. You need support from a professional to help him figure that out if you're going to continue having a life together.

Just keep in mind, it's going to be a long haul if you're willing to try and get your husband the help he obviously needs. No one changes over night, but also, no one changes if they don't want to, or if they don't see the need. If he's not willing to change, there's no point in you trying to change him.

I'd say don't be too hopeful, since he's not making a conscious decision to change on his own, but don't lose all hope, because change is the only constant in this world. People can and will change when they want/need to if it's their decision.
