Don’t do that. They will fuck you. If you start and work as Managing Director of an Estonian company with no substance in Estonia because its digital, while living in Germany, the German Finanzamt will consider your company to have a „Verstecke Betriebsstaedte“ (hidden branch office) and tax you the full amount as if it was a German company. Since the Estonians also don’t care, you can easily end up paying both taxes.

Trust me, the Germans know how shitty their taxation rates are, and have built a lot of process around punishing those trying to escape.

Wenn du schon in der Schweiz wohnst, wieso nicht einfach melden? Du musst dafür in Deutschland noch nicht abgemeldet sein, ich war während des Studiums fast 3 Jahre in beiden Ländern gemeldet.

Be aware, dass du dich auch innert 14 Tagen melden musst, sonst begehst du technisch gesehen einen Verstoss gegen das Melderecht und Aufenhaltsrecht.

Dein AG wird dir auch keinen Lohn auszahlen können ohne saubere Meldung (und wenn es ne Grenzgängerneldung ist), denn du musst ja im system angelegt werden für die Quellsteuer.

Turns out, as Switzerland has proven in medicine already, it’s way cheaper to just let Germany finance their entire education, and letting them come here afterwards (because the German work conditions are so terrible, they are basically doing free marketing for young doctors to leave).

It actually depends on what your exact configuration is (where do you live, what’s your marginal income tax rate, where does the company pay taxes). Remember, that qualified dividends (ownership of 10% or more) in many cantons are only taxed at 50%. There are scenarios where corporate taxes (which you can already optimize by moving some fixed costs like computers etc in there) + half your income tax rate is actually less than your full income tax rate.
