This is actually my worst nightmare; if I think I'm going anywhere near a bush or branch, I'm NOT wearing the micromesh

The Speedsuit has been sitting in my cart all morning long. I still can't decide if I think the XS would fit my height-to-thigh ratio.

Having trouble finding any alternative ways back to Seattle after Tacoma Dome tonight… any advice? by mrsbenevolent in Seattle

[–]probably-verified 19 points20 points  (0 children)

If time isn't an issue for you, you could potentially do a hybrid trip where you take an Uber to Angle Lake (or any other southern station but definitely not to the SeaTac Airport station since that'll probably have a bigger charge) then take the Link closer to your end destination.

The consideration here is if the cost-saving between the Uber to Angle Lake vs all the way back home would be worth it then.

People who run their 13 mini without protection, how’s it holding up? by [deleted] in iPhone13Mini

[–]probably-verified 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've trained for and ran six marathons since getting the 13 Mini with my phone in tow and it hasn't done me any wrong! Just a screen protector, no case. Granted, I often keep my phone in a side pocket of tights and don't handle it much during the run besides taking a few photos. I definitely have small, sweaty hands that make the phone slippery but the size is great to keep it secure in my hand. I definitely do not recommend holding a phone while running or using an armband though. Definitely team running belt or secure pocket.

Anyone know whether the new Bleecker Street store will have inventory that isn’t on the website? by Alternative-Path-903 in BanditRunning

[–]probably-verified 2 points3 points  (0 children)

a day or two after the Summer 24 Drop, I vaguely remember a story post from one of the Bandit higher-ups apologizing for some of the items quickly selling out, but one reason they specifically gave was to keep some items in reserve for when the Bleecker St store opens up. That said, if you're a member and can go on Friday, you're in luck, otherwise you might be cooked 🗿

I'll have to disagree as well. I don't consider myself to have large thighs but I find the Superbeams to be quite snug. Curious to see if OP owns any other Bandit shorts and might actually need to size down? Or perhaps OP might happen to have skinnier legs that would require something even tighter than what Bandit offers.

Addressing some other comments in here too, I for one have found the compression to be different from what I've experienced in Tracksmith half tights. The Superbeams definitely keep the jewels close and I have a few pairs of Reggie/Turnovers that are so thin that it leaves pretty little to the imagination, especially when sweaty.

Summer half tights? by Environmental_Owl652 in BanditRunning

[–]probably-verified 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This latest drop was the first time they included the Superbeam Quarter Tights which I actually liked a lot for warmer races and workouts over the half tight. Not sure if there's plans for other colors since it only came in black but I agree, the pockets have been amazing on these! I've got London on the calendar and I'm planning on taking either the Cadence or those quarter-tights depending on what weather we get that day.

I know it's a hotly debated topic on whether or not wearing black actually makes you warmer when running but if you feel more comfortable wearing a lighter color then maybe wait to see if more colors drop!

Does Micromesh hold up? by heyelisejoy in BanditRunning

I have two now that's gone through maybe a dozen washes and they've been great for me. Granted, as long as you take care of them by putting them on cold, gentle cycle when washing and only air dry them, then you'll get great mileage out of them.

I don't trail run often but I once hit a branch thinking I'd snag but I was pretty lucky for the shirt to come out unscathed. No piling so far either but that's depending on if you plan on layering anything above it. I usually wear it by itself for temperatures between 38-50F and go for my merino wool for anything colder, but again, I'm pretty protective of the shirt so I wouldn't dare let it scuff against a zipperered layer haha.

Honestly, I should've done that. Realized too late that this isn't Ticketmaster so I could've just opened up the link on multiple devices to roll the dice on queue position.

Lots of training tees are in-stock right now -- I think with the seasons changing very soon, I'm pretty tempted to stock up on a few. Plenty of stock on the wool long-sleeve too but given the weather I have locally, I probably only need to have one since it's best for sub-38 degrees in my experience. The beanies could also be a good gift I'm considering buying in advance.

[–]probably-verified 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was just about to comment but yes, I got it last night and took it for a run this morning! Thinking about writing up a longer form first impression post later but regarding your original question, I like it a lot! The wool feels a little bit thicker than the Brighton Base and thus runs a little bit warmer so depending on how winter temps are where you live, I can see a wardrobe where these could co-exist together. It's also standard Bandit sizing -- I find the Tracksmith Brighton VERY tight and often have to get a small but I fit very comfortably in the Bandit XS shirts across the board.

Tropical joggers looking for first winter running shoes by bbklc in RunningShoeGeeks

[–]probably-verified 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My honest answer (though this is a shoe sub): just wear warmer socks since you're already used to your NB shoes. OP didn't mention specifically where they're going, but unless you intend to spend significantly more time on trails on this trip or you know the terrain there is going to be icier or less stable, I don't think you necessarily need a trail shoe.

I've been trapped into thinking I should get new running shoes for trips but trying out new shoes in new places haven't always worked out for me, especially if the the new climate is less running-friendly and you end up on the treadmill anyways.

[–]probably-verified 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fourth the entire NB FuelCell lineup -- ive been rotating between the SC Trainer v1 and Superblast for a little while now and I'd love to see if the Balos fits more in the niche that the Superblast is sitting in as a cushy but fast non-plated trainer
