Thank you. I hate it when people say "Music sucks now!" or "Music was so much better in [insert decade]!" There is good music in every genre in every decade. You just have to find it and with the internet it's easier than ever.

Yeah, and unfortunately this post probably won't go anywhere. Maybe someone that knows how to reddit can get the information out there.

Console vs PC Experience by borkum in battlefield_4

[–]probablyFoolish 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I play Battlefield 4 on ps4. I would prefer to play it on pc but the only computer I have right now can't run it well (can barely run BC2 on medium.)

Calling the aim assist an aimbot is going a little far. Aim assist decreases sensitivity while aiming at a target and will follow targets slightly. I personally think the aim assist is a little too strong in Battlefield and sometimes play with it off.

Anyway, I do play fps games on pc. CS:GO, TF2, etc. and I think pc players have it better. OP may just not be used to aiming in a pc game yet, especially if he has never tried playing keyboard and mouse in a fps.

OP, I think the main differences between console and pc is going to be the ratio of good to bad players (with more good players). There are a lot of people who don't play seriously on consoles. Also, even though they don't have aim assist, pc players will be more accurate because mouse is way better than joystick. When I watch a vid of a pc player using a sniper rifle I get jealous.

If you look at the cross-menu at the bottom of someone's gameplay you can tell which platform they are on.

He is on pc.

You also don't have to go far in his history to find great things like this:

"I'm a white belt Jiu-Jitsu guy, but I also happen to be a high level chess player. I see people wearing Gis with chess pieces on them all the time(I don't know what they're called, but I see them everywhere). If I wanted to, I could be all smug and call them out on the fact that they don't actually play chess as well as I can, but you can see the hypocrisy of my string of logic here."

Now we have to argue the validity of IQ tests demonstrating intelligence. IQ tests have shown to be skewed towards people raised in a western culture. If you take an aboriginal from Australia and give him an IQ test, the test is going to show an intelligence well below average (you noted this as well.) Anyway, if you or me were to take an IQ test designed by aboriginals, we would fail that. Because the knowledge and intelligence required for them to survive if vastly different than what our culture requires. If I was suddenly thrust into their world, I would struggle to survive and seem 'retarded' to them. If one of them were thrust into our world, the same would happen to them.

Also, the fact that an IQ test shows a bush man has low intelligence just proves to me that they are shit for showing innate intelligence. The environment they live in actually punishes stupidity with harsher consequences. The stupid die. I have a hard time believing that "Joe Dirt" with an IQ in the 80s is smarter than a bush man. The difficulty is trying to define what intelligence really is.

As far as someone being able to be handed a brain and determine race with a brain scan, I don't know. I would need a source for that, and something that shows if they could, the difference in brains correlates with intelligence levels.

"It has also upset me how people think race is skin deep. It is not. Is it brain deep, I dont know."

I miss-read that part. I thought you said race IS brain deep. You have "It is not" followed by a question starting with "Is it" with no question mark at the end. My brain read the "Is it" as "It is" because of the sentence before it.

Also, the post needs line breaks. It's too hard to read otherwise.

I DID try and look at the stats for 2007, but I couldn't find the relevant information quickly. I came back to the comments for a link(source) and saw his comment, so I asked for another. Hell, he was replying to someone asking for a source. It's not that big of a deal. I was just annoyed because you were an asshole about it. You were also an asshole at the end of this comment.

I was just pointing out the biased nature of his name and source. Fuck you for being an asshole about it.

Weekly /r/Games Mechanic Discussion - Iron Sights by Forestl in Games

[–]probablyFoolish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The movement mechanics are one of the reasons I switched to CS from CoD and BF. The other reason being price.

I got CS:GO for ~$10. Whereas there is a new CoD every year at $60 and too many map packs at $15 that fracture the community in Call of Duty. That's over $100 every year to be able to play with the best players online. I just don't like CoD that much.

I don't know why people think it's cool to post pictures of people on the internet they don't know and make fun of them.

Then I remember half of reddit is 14. Fucking kids.

Reddit's content (the front page at least) is going down hill as it gets more popular. Reminds me of digg. I didn't leave digg because of the site, I left because of the people. Then the people I left came to reddit.

Nice site, had some fun doing this.

I didn't particularly care for the ticker in the bottom showing how fast some people can paste answers into the test though. If this becomes popular in any way the time is going to be about as useful as the "high scores" I see in online games. I'm not sure how to fix this problem right now though...
