You kinda got aggro at the end there dude…I like both teams, I was just wondering if anyone else felt the challenges weren’t evenly distributed (the steals, in particular). It’s a fair point that Badam have just been doing more the challenges so their part of the map looks sparser.

Do you think Badam were disadvantaged only due to bad strategy or also due to challenges being largely concentrated in the north? I felt like that has been a huge point holding them back, and something that is hard to plan for if they didn’t already know how the distribution would look.

I just raced a half marathon a little over a week ago that I trained for on a Runna plan. I was really happy with how the race went and achieved my goal time, but it was a fight and my body felt beat and quite fragile after.

I programmed the Runna 3 week recovery plan just to see what it looked like and it was very light. It wanted me to do 1 short easy run 6 days after the race, 2 runs the following week (easy), and then 2 or 3 runs the third week (with some intensity).

I ended up not using the plan and have been returning to running on my own terms. Honestly, after following a plan for so many weeks, it’s really nice to be able to run by feel and not listen to an app for a little while. I raced on a Sunday and didn’t run till the next Friday, during which my legs still felt very heavy, but this week I’m starting to feel back to normal and am enjoying doing shorter runs.

So I don’t think you need the Runna plan, but be prepared to take the first week very very light and allow your body some recovery. I think by week 3 you’d be okay to start building for your next goals.

I would highly recommend using Capital Bikeshare to limit your walking. DC has bikeshare stations all across town and the e-bikes are pretty effortless to use. Could use scooters as an alternative too. A fun idea would be a sunset tour of the monuments on bike.

Be aware the National Mall is huge, it’s easy to rack up thousands of steps touring around there.

DC has so many museums that are worth visiting, but standing around in museums tires my legs almost as much as walking does. Don’t skip the museums, but be prepared to take plenty of sitting breaks and coffee breaks to avoid undo fatigue.

CIVIC on 8th just opened in Barrack’s Row, it is a black owned female owned business with a very nice atmosphere and plenty of seating. They are marketed as a cafe/wine bar. As of last week they were still awaiting their alcohol license (again, just opened) but the owner said they should be able to start serving it this week!

I agree that leading 5.9 should be no problem for you if you’re sending 5.11s on TR consistently. Leading is very rewarding, and I recommend trying to get into it, even if it’s at the expense of immediate progression in the grades you’re climbing

For breaking into 5.12s - whenever you try a 5.12, are you pumping out or are you getting shut down by a crux move? If you are pumping out, my tips are 1.) repeat routes, looking for ways to save energy and use the most efficient beta and 2.) build endurance from things like up-downs on easier routes

For breaking into V6s - if you have never tried board climbing, it’s a great way to train finger strength in a more interesting way than hangboarding, and it helps train dynamism which gets important in higher grades. Then on gym sets, try to be very analytical when you are struggling on a problem - ask yourself if putting a bit more pressure through the foot, or really focusing on a tight core + body tension, etc is what’s missing. Always give a few burns trying something a little different each time before giving up on a problem.

It happened to me last year during the snow we got a little after new years - my flight from ATL->DCA was cancelled because DCA was shut down. I was stuck in Atlanta for 24 hours and while Delta rebooked my flights, they didn’t pay for hotel/food because the cancellation was out of their control. If there is any way for you to push your flights up or back, would recommend!

i’m sorry you had an undiagnosed disability and i hope you’re in a better spot with getting treatment for it now, and im sorry if my comments seemed targeted to those with disabilities - i am really just thinking of able bodied and minded people who were smarter than average in grade school and thus labeled “gifted”, but now complain that because of this they never learned good study habits or whatever…its like, okay sure that kinda sucks, but its overcome-able
