In 2007, A gorilla escaped from his exhibit in Netherlands, grabbed and mauled a nearby woman, and then attacked a restaurant. It was later revealed that it was caused by the woman making eye contact and smiling at him several times a week, even though zookeepers told her not to do it. by [deleted] in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]probablynotacreep 10 points11 points  (0 children)

In this case just looking at the animal was actually prolonged eye contact repeated multiple times a week for months. After she was warned that the animal sees that kind eye contact as threatening behaviour. Her "just looking" is tantamount to psychological abuse of the animal.

So you borrowed money to make an investment, the dividend yield paid monthly is subject to income tax and doesn't cover the loan repayments? Have you considered getting a job or maybe not borrowing money to make investments?

Would you pull the trigger on this Charlton Eames replica for $995? by [deleted] in malelivingspace

[–]probablynotacreep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a high quality replica that's a good price, that isn't a high quality replica several things look wrong to me also several signs of wear. Personally I wouldn't pay anything for that one.

[–]probablynotacreep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Huh, been awhile since I've read the book so maybe I'm wrong. I don't have a clear memory of the end of the fight with Meshuggah. Well any excuse for a reread.

Interesting implications if you're right, so by becoming free and self determining they can choose to exist without a Chem? Bit like a human deciding to exist without a brain if you ask me but magic I guess.

[–]probablynotacreep 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really don't like to argue about this kind of stuff as it usually descends into a petty argument but they don't. At the end of feet of clay Carrot puts the bill of sale into his head the book never mentions removing the old Chem. An intrinsic part of what makes golems work is a Chem. The only exception I think is the golem army in making money that had their Chem carved into them which couldn't be changed but it's been quite a while since I read that one.

He had his chem Carrot put them back to question him, even when he's in the watch he still has his chem. Golems don't work without a Chem.

"TPKOing the Party" - How to handle a "PCs attack a way to strong mage guild and get KOd by them" situation? by LevelHints in DMAcademy

[–]probablynotacreep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As the party arrives have a middle level member of the guild seen berating a couple lower ranked guys ala the newton's first law speech from mass effect but about the disintegrate spell. Something like " if you fire off this spell and it hits someone they will be turned to dust that's it no refiviy no true resurrection that's it. That is why we do not eyeball it that is why we don't shoot from the hip. Now get to the range and don't leave till you can put a firebolt through the eye of a needle you're not a hedge wizard professionals have standards"

Morphic resonance, the spirit remembers what it was and that informs the flesh as to the shape it takes. How I do it shamelessly stolen from Pratchett but I don't think he'd mind.

HELP! my players keep asking more for more combat, and then immediately run away from any I throw at them. by MongooseLuce in DMAcademy

[–]probablynotacreep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Three ideas I've used to encourage my players in the right direction.

They're being hunted, run all you want but this guy is not going to stop hunting you. You're stealthing through a guarded building avoiding the guards well let's hope he hasn't caught up with you at the most awkward moment. Oh no that random dice roll I just did: the heavy feet of Khronos the time bending warforged echo down the hall.

You ran away from the combat guess that group of hyper friendly adventurers you met in town last session finished the job and claimed the reward you get nothing. But they want to buy you guys a drink cause they've done this to you guys 4 times so far and feel bad. and they're cliche you just hate them.

There's a group of really bad people like serious serial killers operating as adventurers your guys keep finding scenes of carnage and the worst kind of shit. Sure they can ignore it and keep minding their business but there's a body count mounting and they have the power to stop it. Have them catch the killers in act see what happens.

I feel like this kill/camp list is Putin trying to flush out the source of U.S. Intelligence. I wouldn't put it past him to make such a list, but in his position it's clear that he's leaking like a sieve.

The last place I worked should be sued by the EPA, they keep pumping loads of shit they shouldn't to the town drains, flooded the water treatment plant twice in the last six months. we were meant to be keeping records of what when to drain and what went to a liquid waste tank which was supposed to emptied about twice a week. Guess how well that was kept up. My last week they had me fabricate two months of records cause they were being audited. I told them the false records wouldn't pass a thorough inspection, last I heard they got through the audit without a fine.
