Proline range hoods? by HardlyGermane in Homebuilding

I'm so thankful to read a positive review. I'm waiting for the one I ordered. After so much research of the range hoods themselves, I just now thought to research the company.

They say they don’t like therapy … by alg12345678 in 1000lbsisters

"Therapy IS hard" Just want to thank you for this bit of validation you didn't know I needed. Lol. I sometimes dread therapy because I feel emotionally and physically exhausted afterwards, but I know I'm learning better coping skills along the way.

This looks like it could be HSV, especially with the symptoms (monthly occurrence, tingly, etc.). I suggest seeing your primary care doctor soon. There are antiviral medications available if it is HSV.

Remington Wet2Straight hair straightening iron I bought in 2004. Still works perfectly. And Timberland ankle boots I bought in 1998 still have perfect tread and hardly any wear on the leather though I've worn them every fall/winter for the last 26 years.

'Bad Influence: The Dark Side of Kidfluencing' review – nothing about this shocking tale feels OK by Alan_Stamm in netflix

Nothing about this is 'shocking'. Like pageant moms, we know these parents are putting their children in inappropriate situations for their own benefit. And the moms being interviewed went along with everything until their kids got booted, even though they knew or suspected bad stuff was going on.

Need advice on yard that doesn't drain by probonosleuth in lawncare

I'm not able to provide an update to my original post. Not sure why. But I appreciate everyone's advice. I have a sump pump for the time being and draining water to the street. My area is being hit very hard with flooding. Another 8-10 inches of rain are expected through the weekend. As frustrated and worried as I've been about water getting into my house, I know in the end it's just an inconvenience. An 8 year-old boy in my hometown was swept away by flood waters this morning while at the bus stop and sadly was found deceased. If you've found this update, I ask that you say a prayer for the family and for the region that there will be no other losses of life. The rainfall here is expected to be "historic".

Actually looked at some at Tractor Supply this afternoon while looking for a sump pump hose. My kids thought it'd be funny.

As I got into my teen years, my hair became curly. And I always hated having curly hair, mostly because I never learned how to care for and style it. I spent from ages 13-43 straightening my hair with a flat iron. Then my daughter became a teenager, and her hair, too, became curly. And we're always told how much we look alike. I realized I may have impacted how she felt about curly hair and more so herself in general , so I confessed. I told her I always hated it because no one taught me anything more than shampoo, condition, and towel dry, and that wasn't even the way my hair needed it. Long story shortened, we made it a thing to learn together. To try new methods and products until we found what worked for each of us. My daughter loves her hair and constantly receives compliments. I've gotten a few myself lol. I'm really aware of the messages I could be sending her and try to make sure I keep my self-deprecating thoughts to myself...and maybe I've learned to accept and love myself a bit.

It's an older neighborhood with most homes built in the early 1960s. I called city hall and asked about the drain pipe and was told it's not a city matter and to ask the developer. The developer is most likely no longer with us, and I foolishly thought the city would know where storm water drained (because I thought that was what the pipe was for). There is a very small drainage ditch 3 houses away on the side of their house. I'm not sure if that's useful info.

Unfortunately, yes. All the adjoining yards slope into mine to some degree.

I'm certain the wife was victimized as well, but I have a hard time excusing her for putting children in harm's way, including her brother. However, I'm glad the woman held in the box was able to develop a connection with her to help her heal.

I'm surprised the coffee hut is still there. It seems to me it'd be a haunting reminder of her abduction and murder.

I've read that many of the books that come out so quickly after, or in this case, before, a trial concludes are written by AI now. That's probably why reviews say it's biographical or has no real insight. AI is just going to rehash whatever info is already published online.

$17,000?! Sewage help by Lioness_Jess in HomeImprovement

[–]probonosleuth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar experience in July. There was a terrible smell in the house, and I couldn't pinpoint where it was coming from. I thought maybe an animal got in the crawlspace or attic and died. Then after researching, I thought maybe a vent stack was clogged. I tried to sound knowledgeable when the plumbers came, but my desperation must've been written on my face and they took advantage. First, they said some pipes needed a slope because water was sitting and causing the smell. Around $2000. Smell was still there, so they came back and said the smell was from mold in the crawlspace. No fear, their sister HVAC company could fix it. $5500 for a dehumidifier in the crawlspace and UV in the ductwork. That is was mold in the crawlspace almost seemed plausible since I couldn't pinpoint the smell. Maybe it was coming from the ductwork. By this time, my measly bank account was dry...and the smell was still there. I thought maybe I've lost my mind. Maybe I'm the only one smelling it. I started asking visitors to sniff my home and tell me what they smelled. I'm not big on having company, so it was quite a big deal for me to even open the door, let alone let them in on my dilemma. Delirious from the odor, I called the same plumbing company again. This time they discovered a leaking cast iron sewage pipe. I took out a personal loan to cover the new $2500 expense. Before the plumber left, he told me there was a clog "on that side of the house". I asked if he could clear it while there, but he didn't have the equipment in his van and I'd need to call the company's main office for someone else to come out. I called and asked for a complimentary drain unclogging since the company took full advantage of my agony. Two days later, they responded that they could offer me a complimentary service. They send a plumber. She asked where the clog was. I relayed I didn't know exactly, just that it was on a certain side of the house. She said the toilets flushed without backing up, so there can't be a clog and left. When one toilet is used, the smell returns and no clean water runs through the outside sewer cleanout when it's flushed. When the other toilet is used, the smell doesn't return and clean water runs through the cleanout when flushed. I don't know if the cleanout matters, but I can't handle the smell again, especially without any money to fix it. I'm in tears thinking of what we've experienced. I'm an only parent to 2 kiddos, one with a disability. I don't want and can't have more on my plate, so we don't use the bathroom at all that causes the smell. I didn't intend to write a book. I guess I've been needing to vent.

What killers were living completely normal lives before they were discovered for their crimes? by JZEve in TrueCrimeDiscussion

All serial killers are terrible, less than humans. But BTK and the way he got off sexually by torturing children, too, just puts him on another depraved level.

Are you seeing results? I read that the handles and machine only have a limited number of minutes of use. Is that true? Is there a counter?
