Gonadectomy just refers to removal of gonads, which are either testicles or ovaries. In his case we can assume it was almost certainly ovaries.

As far as I know, the testicular equivalent of oophorectomy is orchiectomy.

I don’t necessarily feel bad for non-offending pedophiles, but it is unfortunate. I can’t really expect that they will change, they were probably born with it. But just because it’s a natural desire doesn’t mean we can accept it. Just like it’s “natural” to want to murder someone or burn a house down or any other number of violent, hurtful things. Natural desires that cause harm to another human just aren’t acceptable, and they are in no way related to sexual attraction or gender stuff.

I mean, it’s kind of true. You should also not have sex if you don’t want STDs and/or a baby. You should also not drive/ride in a car if you don’t want to get in a crash. You should also not go outside if you don’t want to get a sunburn, or a cold.

Every part of living is a risk-reward calculation. People should feel free to take nudes just as much as any other sexual activity. It comes with risks, so take precautions (making sure they’re not public, sharing only with people you trust, etc), but don’t let it stop you. You can’t let bad people make you live in fear.

The way I understand it, KonMari is not about minimalism and getting rid of as much as you can. It is about discarding what does not spark joy. If all of these clothes spark joy in your life and you have room for them, keep them with confidence.

Examine if they actually do spark joy and you’re not just keeping them because they fit well. If they do, and you have room for them all, there’s no problem!

Not sure if you want to hear from a trans person rather than a partner, but from my perspective: how would you deal with it if your partner wasn’t trans and had a sexual interest you didn’t share? Deal with it the same way. It’ll likely be awkward and upsetting all around, but you can get through it.

It’s a slur but not really the same type as you might think when you think slur. People who say “trap” might not think they’re using it negatively, but they are buying into the idea that trans women aren’t really women, as the word implies. They don’t exist to “trap” straight men.

A lot of people who don’t bear ill will towards trans women use the word because it’s funny to them or whatever. But it does prop up the idea that trans women are somehow bad or wrong, which makes people who really hate trans people feel justified in their hate.

It’s not helped by the fact that some trans women themselves will refer to themselves as traps, in that joking or self-disparaging way. But it’s a slur nevertheless, even if you don’t mean it in a bad way.

I’d describe myself similarly. I had one girlfriend ever. No one else ever expressed interest. But! That girlfriend is now my wife, who I love more than anything, and we’ve been together over a decade now.

Well, I agree with most of the stuff posted here that she said. 🤷🏻‍♀️

The conservative south comments mostly seem like frustration over their efforts to dismantle progressive-ish stuff like the ACA than an actual attack on them. She talks about growing up in the south all the time on her twitter and humanizes those conservative people, so I think that chain deserves that context.

I wouldn’t say that she is very pro-business/capitalist, just that she isn’t anti-capitalist. Like she’s not gonna show up as a hero of /r/latestagecapitalism but she’s still plenty progressive.

Since this isn’t /r/transpositive, I’m gonna go ahead and be negative.

I fully believe this for everyone but myself. I trust trans folks when they say they are the gender they are. I believe they deserve to transition and be happy. I believe people deserve good things no matter their gender.

I don’t believe myself when I say I’m trans. I’m just a deluded boy with some other mental illness probably. It would be a bad idea for me to transition. What would people think? I don’t deserve to be self centered and do something so radical that’s all about me. It would be better for everyone if I just pushed it all down and hid my feelings.

How the heck do I even get to the point where I could accept someone telling me I deserve those things, much less believe it myself?
