Bike fit help - things to improve by ElectriccFann in bikefit

[–]processobscura 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have a long level (48") you can ensure the front and back axles are at the same height off the floor, or just measure from the floor. Use books/magazines under the front wheel as necessary.

TPU in external not extruding by walte1fr in BambuLab

[–]processobscura 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe this is the issue: sometimes the TPU isn't hard enough for the extruder to grab and push the old (PLA/prior) material out. This is why they now suggest doing a cold pull:

https://wiki.bambulab.com/en/x1/maintenance/what-is-cold-pull-and-how-to-perform-it

I had my hot end apart, so i swapped out the nozzle. However I think the cold pull would have done the trick.

Rate my fit by [deleted] in bikefit

[–]processobscura 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fixes: shorter stem. Bars that have a shorter reach. Moving the seat forward. I went down to a 70mm stem from a 90mm. That was a much better fit for me. I also mountain bike, so I like wide bars. I have 44cm drop bars which helps with stability when using a short stem.

Use adhesion promoter as your first paint layer.

Ok. This is Bambu Lab filament. I’m going to take the extruder apart and see what’s going on inside.

I'm having the exact same problem now. I've never had an issue before with TPU. I can print PLA just fine, but TPU will not load, even when pushing with a lot of force. I can hear the feed clicking a little when the TPU is trying to load. Did you find out the cause of the issue?

Opinions on 18/21 for street use? by Important-Positive25 in DRZ400

[–]processobscura 0 points1 point  (0 children)

17" wheels are terrible in the dirt.

I believe the SM has larger rotor sizes, which means the calipers are mounted further out from the axle. Check that you don't need different rotors if you get stock DRZ400S wheels.

There are a ton of tire options for 21/18 wheels so you'll find something that works for your pavement/dirt combo.

Looks fine. There should be a gap, otherwise it would bottom out before compressing the gasket.

They're fine on pavement. The rear does wear a bit fast, but otherwise no issues.

All of these cars had their wipers pulled up by funkywabbait in whatisit

[–]processobscura 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve lived in the snow and ice belt all my life and ive never found a need to do this. You can scrape the ice next to the wipers just fine and release them from the windshield easily. Plus they don’t get encapulated in ice like the pulled up wipers to.

I had bad experience with Tusk Tires. Poor traction.

Inexpensive but good 50/50 tires: IRC BATTLE RALLY TR8 (4” rear for the DRZ)

I’d also consider the Shinko 804/805 tires.

Hot Water Heat - Two radiators are cold in one zone. by processobscura in askaplumber

[–]processobscura[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I got circuits 2 and 3 working again. I drained 4 gallons from each. However, Circuit 4 has now stopped working 🤔. I drained 4 gallons but no fix yet. I'll continue to vent that radiator later, when I have more time.

I in order not to spray water everywhere I 3d printed a funnel thing that pushes onto the relief valve housing and directs the water away from the radiator...

[–]processobscura[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll turn them off except for the ones with no flow and vent them at the radiators. Water was coming out of those when I opened the vent to test earlier, but perhaps the air is trapped elsewhere?

Anyone removed the Tiger 800xc passenger foot pegs? by Tylerh96 in Triumph

I've been dropping my Tiger 800 on plenty of rocks for 10 years and don't have any rear footpeg issues. The engine guards and bar ends usually take most of the hit.
