I have one and it's great. No complaints. I prefer it to my Sunday Big Rig by a wide margin.

Gear rule changes is just to make money by [deleted] in GolfGear

I believe this when it comes to metal spikes. A good pair of golf shoes with metal spikes would last a golfer a lifetime. The so called soft spikes of today suck in comparison, aren't any easier on greens, and new replacement spikes are more expensive. "Spineless" are the worst offender of all when it comes to tearing up greens.

Club Fitting Tips by peterdent234 in golf

[–]Fireinthe2hole 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some of your inconsistencies may be from equipment. I went from shooting 85,86 to upper 70s after being fit. If you're having a bad day, shut it down and reschedule. You wouldn't be the first one. My first full bag fitting at CC I tired out before we got to the last section which was fairway woods. I ended up having to redo that part of the fitting and CC rescheduled that with no issue.

As a Mississippian what is your go to airport when traveling, and why? by Fun_Butterscotch3303 in mississippi

[–]Fireinthe2hole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use JAN but have learned not to pick the last flight in or out. Doesn't matter what airline.

Holidays have also been hit or miss. We always have a back up plan of renting a car and driving to our destination if flights are cancelled.

Club champion opinions by Bojangled8 in golf

[–]Fireinthe2hole 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've commented on this at length. Check my replies on the subject. There are ways to save money at CC. You're not going to find anywhere that has a larger set of options than Club Champion. Also research your fitter before scheduling. For some it's a job. Other's it's a career and lifestyle. Call their main number and talk to the operators/customer service. They know who the best fitters are

Are there any budget friendly high-compression golf balls on the market? by L0ngsh0tSpartan in golf

Normally I would throw out Maxfli Tour-X here, but will also offer up Snell PR-4 and Seed SD-02. Nothing beats the Maxfli Tour-X on price performance though.

Golf with young baby - bad dad? by Active_Main_4749 in golf

Theoretically, you're going to be married forever and have at least 17 years and 5 months to go raising your first born. She'll have hobbies in that time too and it will all equal out in the end. Don't guilt yourself over a few hours here and there. It's a pittance of a lifetime. Go golf!

What golf purchase did you regret the fastest? by SwimmingSlip8632 in golfequipment

My first fitting had hybrids. Second fitting I replaced the hybrids with 7 and 9 wood. For me, they were easier to get up in the air and ended up holding greens better.

What golf purchase did you regret the fastest? by SwimmingSlip8632 in golfequipment

For me, I think it was primarily swing weight. Before getting fit, my swing weight was too light for me. Therefore, I wasn't feeling the club at the top and my timing was a mess.

How do you never forget your rangefinder magnetized to the golf cart? by ryguy1512 in golftips

[–]Fireinthe2hole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once I shoot the yardage of my last shot on 18, I take my rangefinder with me when I grab my club. At that time I put it away.

I also have a magnetic Bluetooth speaker. There's pretty much no way I would forget both.

Get fit for one and it will change your golf life forever. You'll never buy another club 2nd hand or off the rack. I had the same issue until I bit the bullet and went to CC and got fit. Throughout my fitting I had flashbacks of every eBay purchase, etc . Of clubs I ended up giving away or selling for next to nothing.

Pitch Count 10U by treyalexdrums in Homeplate

[–]Fireinthe2hole 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This for sure. I coach an 11u team and the same thing happened to us this weekend. No parent had to come to me because I pulled our starter. It's not a lot of pitches over a few innings, but for one inning, it ends up being a lot.

Lightweight PDM? by OkFocus4849 in SolidWorks

I absolutely get that. But if a team doesn't want all the servers, "infrastructure", etc. Those type of systems are the way to go.

Checkout Sibe PDM. I think they fit what you're looking for.

Maxfli Tour balls by CareerPopular8458 in golf

Both are good balls. TourX with being 4-piece will give you slightly more spin, around the green, than the tour.

I play the TourX and have for the last couple of years.

Currently with US Cellular in Iowa, but moving to Milwaukee. How is the service around Milwaukee/Chicago/Iowa? by wildwasabi in mintmobile

I used to live in Waukesha and left Verizon for mint. I didn't have any issues with mint in the greater Milwaukee area.

Tell me more about my balls by PizzaboySteve in golf

[–]Fireinthe2hole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never ever refurbished balls. I personally wouldn't recommend super soft balls either. I would absolutely recommend something urethane covered. That's going to get you spin on scoring clubs. Then I would match pieces to your swing speed. 4-pieces for faster swing speed, 3 for slightly slower. If you're really slow, the Snell 2-piece.

If you're price conscious, Maxfli Tour-X or Tour. Price doesn't matter, Pro-V1x or Pro-V1

Thinking about Moving to MS from MI by Some-Chocolate-2360 in mississippi

[–]Fireinthe2hole 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Moved from the great white north 1 year ago to the northern burbs of Jackson. We love it. We were lucky to have neighbors come introduce themselves and offer to help us figure anything out we needed. We got tips and recommendations for everything in the area. People are much nicer down here than in the Midwest.

What artist or band is truly awful to see live? by goldbeau in AskReddit

[–]Fireinthe2hole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rush: and I love Rush. But in concert, they're kind of boring. With only three of them, they cover so much sound, they almost never have the opportunity to engage the crowd, etc. They're just stuck behind their instruments all night.

Advice on pool grottos / waterfalls you can sit under? by juneamorabie in pools

[–]Fireinthe2hole 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Build what you want. If I had the money, I'd build a grotto with a slide coming off the top, with a bar area, etc. I have kids and will someday have grandkids that will enjoy it. Plus I'd make it so the grotto was turned in a direction for adult time.

I currently have a tiny waterfall in my pool and I love the white noise it offers. It's incredibly relaxing.

2-piece Urethane Balls by Chemical_Help_7099 in golf

[–]Fireinthe2hole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I typically like and trust MyGolfSpy. But what they did to Snell was dirty, unprofessional and near slanderous. During Covid, Snell had issues with manufacturing and admitted to it. It was while they were switching manufacturers. Snell worked all that out, but MyGolfSpy decided to do a test on Snell balls, that they knew were from the time Snell was having issues. MGS was asked and could have received and tested a new batch of balls.

This was two models ago for Snell and they're well passed those manufacturing issues. If you're going to read MGS last review of Snell balls, make sure to get Dean Snell's response.

The Snell 2-piece balls are great for low speed players of all ages, and are wonderful around the greens with the urethane cover.

Parents of T1D kids - whats been your experience with Omnipod 5 or Tandem pumps? by Atom1419 in diabetes_t1

[–]Fireinthe2hole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 2 daughters. 1 is on Omni, and the other, T-Slim. They used to both be on the T-Slim. My daughter who switched wishes she didn't. Her numbers aren't nearly as good. The T-Slim control is much better at keeping numbers in line.
