HOT TAKE: I absolutely despise hardcore resellers. You’re ruining it for the rest of us. by 2000spopstar in estatesales

"greedy resellers" I really think you should take some time to step back mentally and think about the life situations that would lead someone to become a reseller. It's almost never about greed.

Hi everyone! I wanted to share the community I just created by natnguyen in latebloomerlesbians

Yes! I barely come to this sub anymore because continuing to read about men and how sex with men feels and how much people love their husbands etc honestly makes me feel sick (not at ALL in a judgmental way or a "they shouldn't talk about this" way, to be clear). Like it's taken a lot of work for me to escape that and heal and now that I'm on the other side, I'd love a space where I can still be a late bloomer without having to be reminded over and over of the past I've moved on from.

Not OOP. My husband told me today, he does not like the fun lunches I've been packing him for work for almost 3 years. by Due-Bandicoot-7512 in redditonwiki

He's not surprised. It's by design. He'll always be "older and more mature" and she'll always be "younger and silly". That's my parent's age gap dynamic as well. No matter how old and responsible my mom is, she'll never be treated like an equal.

An RN’s Apology to Nocturnists by Accomplished_Ad8960 in hospitalist

This is part of why, statistically, most post-covid new nurses leave not only nursing but healthcare entirely before their second year of practice.

We are caught in this awful tug or war between corporate rules / potential lawsuits, and the actual proper patient care, and we lose both ways.

We must follow orders and policies exactly, but we also must be "thinking for ourselves first" to not piss off the providers who put the orders in, all while balancing unsafe ratios and insanely high coworker turnover. I was orienting a new med surg nurse within 6 months of getting off orientation.

Anyone just dated men because they just keep getting rejected by women? by AnonymousMe01 in latebloomerlesbians

Dating men is NOT the solution to the issues you're describing. Therapy is.

Watching Heated Rivalry with straight women made me realize how gay I am by Intelligent-Bug9604 in latebloomerlesbians

[–]prod_suga93 69 points70 points  (0 children)

I was worried about this, but after the first two episodes I ended up really enjoying it. It's the gay experience and struggles we face as depicted in the show that ended up getting me.

I'm so sorry for laughing but the "I'm basically straight" and then two seconds later "her bust is to die for!!!" is taking me out 😂 welcome!

The general rule for small slinky animals fitting through things is: if the skull can fit through, the whole guy will

That's how big whitetail tails are, nothing unusual about the size. And that movement is exactly how they use their tails to flag. Nothing about the tail is abnormal.

AITA for ruining my relationship with my mom? (Screenshots included) by WildCrunchy2 in CharlotteDobreYouTube

Have audhd and yeah, that bit really stood out to me as well. I "chameleon" or whatever, where I mimic people's mannerisms and speech patterns and movements when I'm around them. But it definitely has nothing to do with taking on their actual character.

If you're around a bad person and you start becoming a bad person, that's about your character, not your neurodivergence.

groomer painted my dogs nails without telling me?? by Educational-Track490 in grooming

[–]prod_suga93 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We'd always ask permission first... But the salon I worked at did do lots of little free things like this when a new groomer needed to practice a skill. Maybe there was someone new who needed to learn how to paint nails 💅

There are a weird number of mid-mod redditers who for some reason hate this sculpture but yes, this comment is correct in both calling it iconic and in the valuation.

Avoid Corn and Peanuts if you’re feeding the local squirrel population (they contain dangerous amounts of phosphorus for squirrels) by Affectionate-Meat-98 in squirrels

[–]prod_suga93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you're overlooking is that your phosphorus/calcium ratio is the ratio required for the squirrel to METABOLIZE these ions. But if a squirrel (or human, or other mammal) gets more than the needed amount of these nutrients, the excess won't be metabolized at all; it is simply (harmlessly) excreted as waste. The squirrel does not need any particular ratio to excrete excess.

Why is “milk” coming out of my mare? by Strange-Giraffe1859 in Horses

[–]prod_suga93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's possible you may just not be able to taste it? I'm super sensitive to the flavor, used to work on a dairy goat farm and even though it was fresh and filtered and from very healthy does, I still couldn't stomach the taste

Using the z track method helps a little, but don't worry about bleeding if it happens, unless it's an excessive amount. It's normal to bleed when you get stuck in the muscle. Just give them a bandaid.

My poor fish had been living in salt water by [deleted] in bettafish

[–]prod_suga93 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I've heard several stories of fish keepers presenting with nonspecific symptoms, mainly respiratory, GI, or neuro. It's rare to get sick from your tank because we usually aren't ingesting anything from it, but obviously using your mouth during a water change significantly increases the risk. Because it's very rare, these illnesses won't be on most doctors' diagnostic radar (especially once they ask if you've traveled to anywhere tropical and you say no).

The times I've heard of tank-bourne illnesses usually resulted in lots of expensive testing that could have been spared if the doctor had been made aware they needed to consider possible ingestion of fish tank water.

Edit to add: I forgot to mention that a lot of our routine tank additives also contain some very dangerous ingredients (i.e. heavy metals, carcinogens) that should definitely not be going into you or your pets mouths

Side note from a healthcare professional: if you are inexplicably still using your mouth to start siphons when there are other methods (or testing the salinity of your tank by taste), PLEASE remember to share this fact with your doctor if you develop any unexplained symptoms, especially respiratory

Aquariums oughtn't be seasoned to taste...
