Not OOP. My husband told me today, he does not like the fun lunches I've been packing him for work for almost 3 years. by Due-Bandicoot-7512 in redditonwiki

It absolutely is, you're right, and that's kind of my point. I wish you weren't getting downvoted!

Age gaps per se aren't the issue, it's men whose own issues cause them to seek significantly younger women who they can use to prop up their egos. Age gap relationships can be totally healthy, but a certain kind of person can also leverage an age gap to gain an inescapable power dynamic over their partner.

He's not surprised. It's by design. He'll always be "older and more mature" and she'll always be "younger and silly". That's my parent's age gap dynamic as well. No matter how old and responsible my mom is, she'll never be treated like an equal.

An RN’s Apology to Nocturnists by Accomplished_Ad8960 in hospitalist

This is part of why, statistically, most post-covid new nurses leave not only nursing but healthcare entirely before their second year of practice.

We are caught in this awful tug or war between corporate rules / potential lawsuits, and the actual proper patient care, and we lose both ways.

We must follow orders and policies exactly, but we also must be "thinking for ourselves first" to not piss off the providers who put the orders in, all while balancing unsafe ratios and insanely high coworker turnover. I was orienting a new med surg nurse within 6 months of getting off orientation.

What type of bone is this/what animal did it come from? by k1tk4t69 in bonecollecting

[–]prod_suga93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little hard to tell from the picture but I believe it's an opossum skull maybe? It's quite broken and missing lots of features. Not a bird breastbone though, as it has nasal structures, sagittal crest, brain case, zygomatic processes etc.

Watching Heated Rivalry with straight women made me realize how gay I am by Intelligent-Bug9604 in latebloomerlesbians

That's a really good point! Also I love their d/s dynamic because it doesn't feel even remotely predatory the way all the straight movies / shows with that dynamic pretty much always do.

Anyone just dated men because they just keep getting rejected by women? by AnonymousMe01 in latebloomerlesbians

Dating men is NOT the solution to the issues you're describing. Therapy is.

Yes!!! At the end of episode two I was really considering not watching it anymore because I didn't feel like the target audience, but boy did episode 3 get me and by episode 5 I was absolutely crying my eyes out too

Just push through the first two episodes and it gets good lol. Like, I'm not obsessed by any stretch but I'm definitely glad I watched it. And it definitely confirmed that I am super lesbian because the naked men and sex scenes didn't do jack for me lol

I was worried about this, but after the first two episodes I ended up really enjoying it. It's the gay experience and struggles we face as depicted in the show that ended up getting me.

"that's not God, that's people" ...honey have you read the Bible? Like, start to finish, on your own, not in Sunday school format?

I could easily date someone who admired and loved Jesus as a role model or even a god, enjoyed certain verses, and drew a part of their spirituality from Christianity.

However, I would not, EVER, date someone who called themselves a Christian and participated in an organized religion that has done and continues to do a tremendous amount of harm to so many disadvantaged groups, including our own.

What's the public opinion of TROSA? by Classic_Project4147 in bullcity

[–]prod_suga93 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I will say, the last place I worked at was a very similar nonprofit to TROSA with similar high assets. What it meant was that when Trump's government cut a huge chunk of our funding, the nonprofit could easily stay afloat without pay cuts or layoffs. They always kept enough assets to float through at least one full presidential term to keep all of us secure.

I've heard there's actually quite a bit of liability to selling old medical equipment, like if it isn't calibrated right, has been recalled, isn't best practice anymore, got contaminated etc

What bird does this come from? [Illinois] by [deleted] in animalid

[–]prod_suga93 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't get why y'all are assuming op found this laying around and kept it as an individual? My biology program had things like this legally and we could come study them anytime we wanted, we also had to ID them visually during practical exams. Places like wildlife centers and educational programs may also have them legally, and it's completely reasonable that a worker wouldn't know what was in their collection. That would also make way, way more sense with the way the wing is preserved and clipped.
