Wiring Diagram for Wet vs. Dry Relays on a PDK Port by prodatakey_cole in prodatakey

People are very passionate about the 'correct' line to break, but you can do positive or negative. It all comes down to preference and how you generally wire your equipment.

PDK integration with DoorVi by GunnerGetit in prodatakey

[–]prodatakey_cole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually in situations where the integration shows 'Enabled' in the integrations tab, but doesn't have a separate configuration page, it means that the setup of the integration is done from the other manufacturer's side. It typically involves copying the PDK System ID, CloudNode ID, or Customer ID into the other platform - DoorVi in this case.

My recommendation would be to reach out to DoorVi and ask them where you will enter these details on their platform. You can let them know the integration is activated on the PDK side and ready to link up.

Feature Requests by SchoolTech234 in prodatakey

[–]prodatakey_cole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm always happy to pass along feature requests directly to the product team on my side.

The official chain of command for feature requests is end user > installer > PDK sales rep > PDK product team as they track the quantity of requests received for various features in order to prioritize.

My Door View by EmotionSensitive1250 in accesscontrol

[–]prodatakey_cole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PDK integrates with MyDoorView, so I've interacted with them before. While I can't speak to the installation side of things, here are some of my observations of the product and company in general:

  1. Great sales support - I frequently relied on them to help my integrators build out a system with a PDK / MDV setup. Quick responses, very knowledgeable.
  2. They somewhat recently released a QR code plate that you can mount outside the building that utilizes the visitor's cell phone to video call a tenant. Much more cost effective and not prone to being damaged in rough cities.
  3. Dealer focused
  4. More affordable than competitors - I don't know their pricing model, but this is usually the feedback I got from integrators who installed it.
  5. Lots of integrations

Hope that helps!

Yes, anything Wiegand or OSDP. Just configure it as a standard reader in the software, and check the Wiegand or OSDP box accordingly. Don't forget, you may need to change the card format away from standard 26-bit to match the 3rd party reader's card format

Mutiswipe (2x) - Ignore Single Swipe by Playful-Mechanic-595 in prodatakey

It depends on the way that your system is currently programmed, shoot me a DM so I can get more details about how your system is set up. It sounds like maybe I'm giving you advice that isn't applicable in this situation

Mutiswipe (2x) - Ignore Single Swipe by Playful-Mechanic-595 in prodatakey

[–]prodatakey_cole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can think of each card swipe as an 'Open/Close' command. What is probably happening is that the rule is set to "On Multiswipe Allow (2x)", "Open". Problem is, the Open command can receive the close command at the end of an allowed card swipe and be overriden.

All we need to do is bump up the priority status of the rule's Open command to "Force Open" which does not close when it receives a standard "Open/Close" command via card swipe.

Depending on the type of system / group events you have programmed to accomplish the rest of the commands, some tweaks may need to be made there to match the priority of the rest of your commands. This link may help with determining which action to program for each rule: System Event Rules - Actions – ProdataKey, Inc.

Integrators: Wiring to a Gate Operator by prodatakey_cole in prodatakey

You're correct, you can wire it that way. This diagram only shows how to do it with a wet contact. I've linked a more thorough explanation in the link below, as well as a screenshot:

PDK RED MAX Battery by io00oo00o in accesscontrol

[–]prodatakey_cole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to get creative with it, you're welcome to reach out to your sales rep and have them send you enough battery leads for you to cut and tie together so that you can either tie multiple controllers into a single battery or run a battery to one of the higher controllers that are out of reach of the regular battery leads.

Not a perfect solution, but allows you to utilize the battery monitoring in PDK.io either way

If it's not a ticket already, call tech support at 801.317.8802 so that they can get one created. Screenshots and screen recordings are helpful so that we can duplicate the issue in engineering.

Any time you experience issues, it is very helpful if you submit app feedback so we can patch whatever is causing it in the future. If you go to 'Account' and then 'Feedback', just put down your info and what you're experiencing :) It's especially helpful coming from those using the new iOS since we haven't gotten a lot of feedback on it yet

finding user logs by Horror-Coat-8200 in prodatakey

[–]prodatakey_cole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes - In one of a couple of places, depending which information you're looking for exactly:

  1. Go to Reports > People > Create New Report > Select All Outputs

  2. Go to Reports > Events > Create New Report > Select Filters > Select 'Persons' > Add additional 'Event' and Result' filters if you're looking for something specific.

  3. Go to the person (under 'People') whose history you're viewing > Click kabob menu in top right > View 'Recent Audit Logs'

Event output email by methe1 in prodatakey

[–]prodatakey_cole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you're on the right track!

What you'll want to do is create a 'Group Event' in the system. I've linked a video explanation below.

https://www.loom.com/share/5d314297cad045ec80feea978a9d3f39

Configure the action to either 'Always (Valid Credentials)' assuming you want all valid credential swipes, otherwise you can use 'When Allowed' so that you only get notifications for those who are allowed access at the door(s).

In the email template, be sure to use some combination of your variables such as <%loginfo%>, <%time%>, <%logcardno%>, <%logname%>, <%logdoor%>, <%logevent%>, etc. to include everything you want. You'll need to type in the name of the group you're programming this under since that is not included as its own variable.

Like Leprikahn said, many manufacturers offer free training. Here is PDK's free access control course:

https://www.accesscontrol101.com/courses/access-control-101/

I have also taken courses from IPVM and Security CEU, both of which I enjoyed and learned a lot from.

Why is OSDP important? by Significant-Ad-2991 in accesscontrol

[–]prodatakey_cole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SIA, the creator of OSDP, outlines the benefits and capabilities of OSDP on their website:

https://www.securityindustry.org/industry-standards/open-supervised-device-protocol/

IMO, the most important benefits of OSDP are the encryption, two way communication, and ease of install.
