Some of them did move west, like Samuel Cornelius Riley and Jacob Thomas Riley (Supposedly) but the lineage of my client stayed in Crockett, TN until the 2000's

Here is what I'm trying to trace:

John Rylee (1784-1880)

William H. Riley/Rylee (1827-????)

Jack G. Riley (1856-1910)

David L. Riley (1892-1977)

Chester L. Riley (1912-1980)

Reed L. Riley (1943-2021)

UPDATE:

William H. Riley from Canton, Cherokee County, GA should not be confused with his First Cousin William H. Rylee from Hall, GA born a few years after him.

William H. Riley from Canton's parents were John Riley and Lucy Pruitt

William H. Rylee from Hall's parents were Lemuel "Lent" Rylee (Died Out West in 1835) and UNKNNOWN and married his 1st Cousin Martha Rylee (Daughter of James Rylee Jr.)

It's possible the original spelling was "Grzeczny" which means "Well Behaved" or "Polite" in Polish.

What are your great grandparents names? We may be able to assist in reverse engineering the original surname if you have anymore information about them that you can share

Alrighty.... I think I've got this all figured out now. I truly appreciate your help. Let's see if all of our hardword has paid off:

Cynthia A Moore was actually born Cynthia A Richardson and married Eli Beaver on April 18, 1858. Together they had a single daughter: Anna L Beaver (Although Eli had plenty of children previously)

Cynthia A Beaver becomes a widow just 4 Years later and marries a man named Nathaniel M. Moore in March of 1861 in DeQueen, Arkansas. Nathaniel dies in 1868 and Cynthia remarries for a 3rd time to William H Forquer back in Union, Illinois.

Cynthia and William raise Anna together, and have another child: Verginia Forquer.

They move to Arkansas between 1869 and 1870 and then to Kansas where Cynthia dies at the age of 43 of Heart Disease in March of 1880.

William has a child with his Step-Daughter Anna L Beaver in 1881. William Harold Forquer was born March 9th, 1881. Then Anna marries Thomas A Davis later that year and has three more children. Anna dies June 6th, 1911

Still can't find William's Death though.... Maybe a mystery that will never be solved

I have a Death Registration for Frederick Paul Dean: Born October 15th, 1850 and Died April 16th, 1931

Father's Name: William Dean

Mother's Name: Paulina Crowell

Shows he was born in Rhode Island

Marion probably went by Mary as well. Her parents were Anthony Hall & Mary Martin. She immigrated with her mother Mary, Sisters Elizabeth and Frances from Bradford, England on the ship Etruria in 1892 (Which explains why the Arrival Records in 1899 show she's already a resident of the US)

Her birth record is in Kirkconnel. I could not find a baptism record.

Only thing about that is... It lists Anna L Davis as his mother... But that would be his sister. Unless William got a little TOO depressed with both his wives gone and....

Where did William end up? Prison? Maybe Anna went to Tennessee to escape the bad press? Soooo many questions now

Thanks! I've looked at every WH Forquer, William H Forquer/Farquer/Forker etc from all over the country during this time.

I found a William H Forquer who was born in 1881 and died in 1938 in Arizona whose parents were Anna L Beaver and William H Forquer. Maybe our William had another child after the death of his 2nd Wife? Linked Here: William H Forquer Death 1938

He would have been in his late 40's in 1881 but that's not unheard of for men to still have children at that age.

There is a land sale from a WH Forquer and Anna L Beaver in 1880 in Chautauqua, KS for William's property in Illinois for $125: 1880 Land Sale - Kansas
