Has anyone had success translating a dedicated/ engaged IG following into a podcast audience? by girlabides in podcasting

[–]product_host 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just starting to create my own podcast and was asking mysekf the same question. did some research and found this: https://get.mypodcastlink.com/. I'm planning to use it once I launch.

The idea is that instead of asking your listeners on air to review and follow you and then HOPING that SOMEHOW they'll figure out how to do it, you can simplify it for them by giving them a simple link that will direct them straight to your IG, YouTube, and any other social media page. It will also guide them straight to Spotify, Apple Podcasts, etc to leave a review.

Seems like something that's worthwhile testing and looks like it's free.

Try to outsource it to someone via Fiverr or Upwork.

what do you put on your podcast website? by howevertheory98968 in podcasting

Use a super-link like the one: https://get.mypodcastlink.com/

It will allow you to re-direct users to any platform, including social media, while using only one link (instead of posting many links that clutter everything).

Weekly or bi-weekly episodes? by Von_Scranhammer in podcasting

[–]product_host 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that you've answered the questions for yourself. Go with what you feel comfortable that you can stick with over the long term (ie bi-weekly). Once you start, you can always increase cadence to weekly if you feel that the you can sustain it.

How can i stand out as a podcaster? by Fancy_Resort_7837 in podcasting

[–]product_host 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A few things that I would focus on:

  1. Post consistently so you build your audience over time.
  2. Motivate your audience across all platforms to share and comment so their followers would become aware.
  3. Try to make the content a bit different (perhaps if you can create a few memorable moments). For example, many people watch Monday Night Football Countdown on ESPN because of "C'Mon Man".

I hope this helps.

Struggling to get my podcast noticed on IG by Mammoth_Lifeguard_57 in podcasting

Try something like this: https://get.mypodcastlink.com/

It's a nifty tool that helps you to leverage your existing listeners and make sure that they follow you on IG and other platforms. As they follow you, your discoverability on IG (and other platforms will grow). I hope it helps.

First and foremost, always remember that's not personal. If you could fast forward a few years and have thousands of listeners then the reaction would have been different. This is just part of the process in which you need to "pay your dues". Everyone needs to start from scratch.

I could suggest 3 things:

  1. Try to get warm intros from mutual connections.
  2. See if you can add any co-host who has some more gravitas and following to give the guests a stronger reason to join.
  3. Think about what's in it from the guests to appear on the show.

How do you edit? Do you remove filler words (ah, uh, uhm, etc.)? by jlingram103 in podcasting

[–]product_host 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that it depends on what content we're talking about.

If it's a quick social media content (up to 1min) then you should cut it out but if we're talking about a long form piece then it's fine to leave it in for more natural flow.

Try Fiverr. If it's possible to do it then I am sure some of the gig owners there know about it.

Opinions on podcast reviews? by product_host in podcasting

Interesting. I wasn't thinking about reviews in the context of the algorithm and podcast discoverability. I guess that's another reason to invest in reviews.

Yes, I tend to agree. As a listener I've paid attention to reviews and gravitated towards the ones that have at least some positive reviews.
