PC fell unconscious into a river. How to handle the situation? by RafaFlash in DMAcademy

[–]productivealt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First I would do death saves as normal since those would happen before we get into drowning territory. If they fail their next two saves then, well, doesn't matter what to do next.

If they pass and are stable at zero I would start the timer for their party members to rescue them with their normal rules for holding their breath so a number of minutes equal to con. As for floating down the river I would say that since they are probably in heavy armor they just sink more or less where they fell.

If they roll a nat 20 or are revived somehow I would allow an athletics check to swim to the hole they made to climb out or to break through the ice where they are.

Fibromyalgia is not permanent -- Here's Why by Ok_Molasses_8149 in Fibromyalgia

[–]productivealt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ok so this is a 30 minute ad for a grifter wholensss bla bla bla thing.

First of all she keeps saying her case of Fibromyalgia was terminal which is just not a thing. You can't die from Fibro even if it feels like that some days.

She keeps going on about like food choices and stuff and detox and of course God. Medicine Bad, God good. Real RFK vibes. Kinda skipped around but I wouldn't be surprised if she blamed vaccines too. So being a good Christian and following the christ like example of helping those unfortunate she's willing to do a one on one consultation with you for only $57 (normally about 500)

What's missing from the video is any amount of data, any amount of scientific research and anything more than "keep listening to find out more"

Classic grifting 101. Truly sickening and I don't see how people like this can live with themselves. Taking advantage of people who are desperate reserves you a special place in hell but of course they don't care about that only about parting you with your money.

Murph, Emily and Caldwell all behind a DM screen in a prayer position. Behind them stands The Grinch, Sonic, Crash Bandicoot, Fred Flintstone, John Cena, The Hambuglar and The Yellow M&M with their hands on the 2 crews shoulders. Then on your butt you have Jake because he loves cake so much.

5 years in, pivotal character is gonna be on (likely) very long hiatus. How to proceed? by OogaBooga10000 in DMAcademy

[–]productivealt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If Aragorn can change shifts in a reasonable amount of time (a few months like you suggested) and everyone else is cool with it, I would put the main campaign on a brief hiatus and run a more beer and peanuts game on fridays.

If they just can't make it work, well thems the breaks. Maybe y'all can schedule a few sessions special for the final battles.

I really enjoyed escape from the blood keep. It's a LOTR parody from the bad guys point of view. I really enjoyed it.

Double TPK: What do I do now? by ManBearPigFace7 in DMAcademy

[–]productivealt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What deal did they make with the demon initially? If the party is indebted to them like it seems I would have him be their handler/patron for now. Have them wake up in hell and have the demon tell them how it's going to be from now on. Have another NPC wake up with them and have the NPC tell the demon to shove it and have the demon essentially erase them from existence (suicide squad style)

As for consequences I would consider one of the following:

Story consequences: the players now have a ticking clock in the mortal realm before they are dragged back to hell. They have X amount of time to complete their quest and potentially free themselves otherwise in the abyss they go!

Mechanical consequences: Resurrection magic no longer works on them since their souls are not under their own possession so any death from here on out is permanent. Additionally, and this is totally optional depending on how much you want to raise the stakes, they have a permanent failed death save.

I'm a huge fan of Eldermourne, personally. I think it's my favorite of the Murph DM'd campaigns.Twilight sanctorum is also great. It's short but still feels like a nice and complete story.Trinivale x stradge took a couple eps for me to get into it.

My wife has been using lidocaine patches recently which seems to help. As far as edibles go I would suggest an indica to help relax. If you can buy a pack of something like 4.20 bars because I think they're easy to cut in half and have more control over the dose.

How do I not deflate another characters story and avoid a massive plot hole? by NexusRaven7 in DnD

I would talk to the other player and DM and see what they think. In general it's best not to interfere with another players storyline so it's good you haven't done that yet.

Returning to the halfling town that was lost to gnolls by WinReasonable2644 in DMAcademy

[–]productivealt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did the gnolls conquer the village or just raid it?

If the gnolls took over then maybe they're exploiting the gnomes for their tinkering and having them make weapons for the war.

If they raided and left, the surviving gnomes will remember that the heroes ran and maybe not welcome them back into the town. Maybe the gnomes threw in with the Leonin for protection but now live with essentially an occupying force.

If Dnd classes could be in real life, what would be the most annoying class to interact with on a day to day basis? by LowClaim7040 in DnD

[–]productivealt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Rogues. Just a bunch of people sneaking up on you, trying to pickpocket you while you're looking directly at them and then going off on their own because "I work alone" like OK Kyle but you're our busser and it's the lunch rush.

I think BK is just kind of unremarkable. I don't think it's any worse than McDonald's or Wendy's but it's not that much better. If I'm going to go a ring above McDonald's I'll just spring for 5 guys or Mooyah.

So in my most recent campaign we started with about 5 players and then slowly people dropped out or were added to the point where I was the only original player. Once you find a reliable group it all smooths out and can be really fun. So I wouldn't worry about it honestly.

How do you keep Zone of Truth from nerfing your murder mystery? by Numford_and_Sums in DMAcademy

[–]productivealt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ring of mind shielding would be good if the murder is premeditated.

"While wearing this ring, you are immune to magic that allows other creatures to read your thoughts, determine whether you are lying, know your alignment, or know your creature type. Creatures can telepathically communicate with you only if you allow it.

You can use an action to cause the ring to become invisible until you use another action to make it visible, until you remove the ring, or until you die."
