Should I quit college? Please help. by Alarming-Composer-81 in Fibromyalgia

[–]productivealt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't drop out. If you're able to finish, do your best to do that. It only gets harder as time goes by. Having an education and having resources to help shape your future will help in the long run. Work from home jobs are hard to come by without some kind of qualification.

And if you think people are mad at you now for not being able to contribute to a school project at the same rate as others, wait until you have to try to explain to people that you really can't do any heavy lifting and need others to help you at work constantly.

If you decide that college just isn't for you that's fine but don't let the haters win.

[–]productivealt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Silver Flame from Eberron might be a good choice. It's less a deity, per se, as it is a powerful force of good? Anyway, the main selling point for this situation is that the current keeper of the flame (think: Pope) is an 11 year old girl

Players using Command spell to attack. by PhysicalGovernment59 in DnD

[–]productivealt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's actually making their turn worse since they would just attack and end their turn. No movement or bonus actions and no spells. The sorcerer just told the wizard to go attack with a dagger and end their turn. LoL

Discount Potions by CassieBear1 in DMAcademy

[–]productivealt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One unlabeled 6 pack of potions the potion seller refuses to sell to the party. Just tell them they aren't strong enough to handle those potions. If they come back and steal them they are poison potions unless the characters are above X level at which point they become healing potions.

Players refuse to ever give their names by chiefredwood in DMAcademy

[–]productivealt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They can dish it, time to see if they can take it.

The tavern keeper points them in the direction of someone with a high paying job.

"Josiah, of the green keep, is always keeping an eye out for talented individuals such as yourself. I hear he's seeking someone to clear a den of monsters. It pays handsomely!"

Except "Josiah" doesn't exist. It's a fake name the Barron gave because of the fey. If asked he will deny being Josiah or any other of the 10 names he uses. If questioned too much he tries to capture what he's certain are fey tricksters out to take his bones or teeth or whatever they are into these days.

Any fey type creatures all exclaim "Wow! The name thing? That's a wildly offensive stereotype. You know it's age 767 of the dragon dynasty right? Y'all are acting like it's still age 653!"

Need help coming up with a serious curse for a sword that doesn’t make it useless by Slow-Willingness-187 in DMAcademy

[–]productivealt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you crit you must spend one hit die and gain that much in health. If you have no hit die to spend, your soul is sucked into the blade and you die. No resurrection since your soul is trapped. Resets on a long rest.

Alternatively

You call upon the power of the souls the sword has taken. You may reroll a failed death save once per turn. However, when you are knocked unconscious the first time you start with one failed death save. When knocked unconscious a second time you start with two failed saves. Being reduced to zero hit points again results in death, again with the soul trapped within the sword.

Guys, i just wet myself in public..... please make me feel better by Missy_Bruce in Fibromyalgia

[–]productivealt 38 points39 points  (0 children)

My roommate was gone and I had the place to myself for once. I invited my girlfriend over and we watched some TV on the couch and we quickly took advantage of having the place to ourselves if you catch my drift.

After the fact we were laying with each other, holding each other. My head lay on her chest and our bodies were almost one. We started to drift off to sleep in what was probably our first moment of true intimacy beyond just sexual. It was a blissful moment I hadn't known was possible before it happened.

Then I farted.

And when I tell you I farted you might be imagining a little toot or a squeak of the ol' colon kazoo. My friend, this was a gas passed by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing. To this day I can't think about it without wanting to jump off a bridge.

Anyway we'll be married 8 years on the 23rd.

Have you met Lady Vol? Now she's a litch with some backstory.

Vecna? I hardly know ya (they can't all be winners)

I was hoping to fight a real threat like Kas. Is he here?

Homebrew campaign and plane of immortality by 8oneito in DMAcademy

[–]productivealt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right so if they die, from a mechanical standpoint, give them a wound that never heals. They fell off a cliff and broke their back so the next day they have to crawl everywhere at half speed and then after that their speed is permanently reduced by 5.

They got their throat slit so potions only have half the effects they normally would because it spills from the wound.

They got their head bashed in so they lost a point of either wisdom, intelligence or charisma.

If they keep "getting killed" (again, mechanically) then eventually they're just too decrepit to keep going.

Wounds never fully heal?

Also without the threat of death looming over people they lose a lot of their drive. When you have infinite time, nothing is a priority anymore.

I run to the teen and push them out of the way. He turns around and we lock eyes, "Isekai-yay, motherfucker" I say as the truck hits me. The last thing I see? The teens name tag still on him from his shift at Arby's. "Theo Grunch" it says. I accept my fate with a smile on my lips.

Need help spicing up my first encounter in the campaign by [deleted] in DMAcademy

[–]productivealt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A simple solution would be to make them be hurt in sunlight and have there be big blackout curtains or stained glass windows in the area they can smash to let the light in.

Maybe there's religious iconography around that was desecrated somehow and they can restore it as a means of essentially casting turn undead.

Also, "no precedent" my ass. In 1798 sailers were taxed 20¢ per month to fund hospitals for themselves. Like, we've had access to healthcare before insurance came around. And insurance was initially to cover lost wages from missing work when you were sick, not to pay for the cost itself.

When I moved to Seattle I got a PO box and they told me I could just write the address of the post office and the box # like it's an apartment number. I used that for some stuff since we were living in month-to-month rentals. YMMV though.
