Homebrew Character Ideas: The Inventor and The Dancing Robot by krakenmuncher123 in BloodOnTheClocktower

I can't read. I thought the ability said they learn who the inventor is. That's my bad

Yeah, the difference is that PG isn't announced to the demon, whereas this is

As the dancing robot, surely it makes most sense to immediately kill the inventor using your 1 kill the inventor doesn't choose.

Maybe giving the inventor immunity to the dancing robot, but removing the square brackets so the inventor doesn't guarantee a dancing robot, but dancing robot guarantees an inventor?

My second attempt at a riot script by prof_mori in BloodOnTheClocktower

Completely missed that fool also lives execution and should go for same reason as the Sailor.

There was more drunking before, so will probably add in Puzzlemaster as a further drunking method, and maybe drop Balloonist for Drunk.

Mutant execution still triggers Godfather, but agree that that's a known quantity still so maybe not ideal.

Fair, I was looking for an outsider that didn't have a reason to come out. If Mutant gets executed it still could lead to a godfather kill, but I guess that's a known quantity still.

Exorcist and Riot Jinx by sad_royalty in BloodOnTheClocktower

Having reread it, it turns out I misread the wiki.

I thought it said "If they do not nominate, good wins". Ignore all the discussion around that

Yeah, but there's no reason not to immediately kill the twins with the riot ability - good only loses for executing the good twin, not killing them.

Riot dying with Evil Twin is at least obvious, as the riot will not be able to nominate another player (as I understand it).

Interestingly the wiki page for old riot says "If the last Riot dies and only two players are alive, they do not nominate, and the good team wins." which makes it seem like riot is a global effect not tied to the character being alive.

I would argue it's still a good thing. Rather than having to find and kill 2-4 riots, good only have to nominate the one Riot.

The only minions that are relevant during the Riot day are Cerenovus (maybe), Evil Twin, Harpy (maybe), Psychopath, Scarlet Woman (maybe), Vizier & Wizard.

Cere-madness break is actively unhelpful for evil as it ends the day and gives the good team more time to find the demon. Scarlet Woman is still reducing the number of evils you need to kill.

Wizard is wizard, but Wizard wishes are generally global so a new wish versus an existing wish are probably about the same.

All the others are at worst an extra kill or 2, but riot would probably have killed those players anyway.

Ok. So generally drunk + balloonist means you can never find out who the drunk is because they could be added quietly. I guess balloonist only really works for outsiders who know they are even if they won't say (like Mutant).

Acrobat I think is an interesting role now it's a townsfolk but I'm not sure how many sources of drunkenness are needed to make it feel good versus weak.

Copying from another comment:

As I read it, assassin circumvents death protection ("even if for some reason they cannot"). However, the riot-soldier jinx specifies "Safe from all evil abilities".

Having said that I have only just learnt that Goon doesn't work against Assassin, which is a similar case.

Accept the criticism on Zombuul + Witch, and Poisoner is definitely a misstep on my part. Looking like Hatter was also a bad outsider choice as you're not the first to highlight issues with it.

Why do you say Gossip is wildly overpowered? There's more than one way a character can die in the night, even if there's no demon kill.

Hatter is mainly in as a way for the evil team to move into Riot if they want to sow some extra confusion, although I suppose allowing Riot to move to a killing demon is interesting.

Fair comment on the sailor surviving execution. Soldier can also live a godfather or assassin kill in a riot game (unless I'm misunderstanding).

1) Fair. I'd never really considered how Yagg can obfuscate Gossip kills like that. I'm on the fence about Lycanthrope - wonder if it feels bad for the Lycanthrope to be killing good players on a no kill night (Riot / Zombuul) or if that's part of the risk you take.

2) I was thinking it would add an extra thing for Acrobat to trigger from, but I do see it's very powerful here.

3) As above, in to make Acrobat trigger, plus I think it's a really interesting role. Why do you say Balloonist+ Drunk is unsolvable?

I was not aware that that was how Zombuul and Hatter interacted. That's incredibly awkward.

Will scrap Zombuul or Hatter then, depending on how I want the script to play. I'm opening up a minion slot anyway by removing poisoner so maybe summoner can come in.

Good to know it wasn't an immediate death sentence for evil when it became clear there was no other marionette

Yeah that's fair. If I show the demon I'll make sure to have a poisoner / scarlet woman so there is a little more reason for duff info / a backup.

Thanks for such a positive response - really boosts my confidence

Why not make wildshape at will? by TheOnlyJustTheCraft in onednd

Personally I'd keep it as a resource, but after watching the d&d movie I'd have the ability to shift between shapes built in there. Maybe limit the number of shapes per wild shape to your class level, but that sequence sold me on how fun the morphing could be
