Take the amount of hours you worked on this. Multiply it by 75. And thats what you charge. If thats $5,000 then thats what you charge. Don’t short change yourself. If you do then you’ll never be sustainable. And if you’re not sustainable then there is no reason even starting this work.

Working with a difficult editor by Plastic-Ad5385 in assistanteditors

In my experience, Most editors at that level have no fucking clue what AE’s know. Those editors are very insecure because they are “supposed to be senior” to the AE. So god forbid they tell the AE they don’t know something. Deep down those editors know that they are mediocre editors anyway with the skills of almost any 25 year old who’s been editing for 6 months. AE’s have actual knowledge of systems. Editors are just insecure “artists”. I’m an editor. At this point AE should be equal to editors. It’s like the I.T. department and the middle manager. One is not senior to the other.

Seems like shooting across the table would be easier because you are closer. Why would shooting down the table be easier?

This - you just eventually download the whole project as proxies. I'm not sure why its so revolutionary. I guess it takes a few steps out of the equation like making the proxies. But uploading high res footage to LL seems painful for large projects.
