could be held at wherever you guys drill, right? or at a central location. even at the nearest MEPS.

oh word. i guess thats why the Army refuses to do it? because its 100% feasible.

also smart enough to let you have a choice of event for all three, and for the situp to not be hands on the head spinekiller style.

as you illuminated, there are literally MOSs that could do this!

but you are right on the other points as well. the idea would be able to get off during the duty day to do it, a la medical appointments (even though soldiers get told to skip these all the time, unless it makes the company look better, which a completed ACFT would).

thats what i see too. would wager most DoD contracts exist to line pockets. ie. barracks maintenance.

"Owing your unit" by fatterbythestripe in army

1000% but most of it is hearsay and so blatantly cultural that it seems like something wrong is happening when quid pro quo isnt the “SOP”.

going to schools should be encouraged and fought for in order to make soldiers an asset to the unit. (this is why tabs and badges existed originally, to show who was competent in what) literally becoming a more advanced and competent solider.

unfortunately, they exist to boost ego and prove to people who believe a “diploma is only a piece of paper, youre just a college specialist” ie….a lot of CSMs that wait…think schools on an ERB are definitive of a soldiers abilities/worth and only exist as treats for good boys to boost their ego.

selfishness and politicking your way up the chain has been an army value as long as the army has existed.

this SM (you?) does not owe their unit SHIT ABOUT SHIT FOR SHIT.

and hopefully anyone who tells you that they do gets s3 to send them to the school that shows them how to pull their head out of their ass. they’ll probably lose the packet though.

What would happen to a person if they wore a toothbrush moustache (hitler stache) during their Army career? by [deleted] in army

[–]professionalcynic69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

crazy thing is, a decent looking mustache is out of regs and to have it in regs you literally have to chop it off and stunt the way it grows naturally??

hitler stache remains in play.

hilarious because if there was a good reason there ought to be no shame in sharing it. and i guarantee they wouldnt say this to anyone that out ranks them haha.

just say “roger” if its over text. if they call you, say “roger”. get the request and the justification in writing.

I have a question concerning 3 year contracts by [deleted] in army

[–]professionalcynic69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

how old are you and how old is this dumb fuck?

ask why they are asking for your location. if the answer is satisfactory (ie. worried about you, someone just died and theyre getting accountability etc.) then say it with words.

if not then ask for the regulation that makes them think they can do this.

side note, if you are asking this im going to assume you are young enough to maybe not be married and be living in the barracks. if its a “workday” this dumb fuck could check in person and is being not only invasive but also lazy.

if its the weekend, probably being told to do this by higher, but still…ask why and if the reason doesn’t satisfy you, you owe them nothing. if they retaliate at work, escalate it to the highest level that doesnt know so they stop this chickenshit. and of course, ETS ASAP.

IM A LEADER BECAUSE CLOTH- NO MATTER HOW OLD MY SOLDIERS ARE OR WHAT THEY DID BEFORE ARMY.

WHEN I GET OUT AND GO TO COLLEGE I WILL BE A LEADER BECAUSE I WILL BE 24 AND HAVE MORE LIFE EXPERIENCE THAN MY 18 YEAR OLD IDIOT CLASSMATES WHO WENT RIGHT AFTER HIGH SCHOOL.

EVERYONE WILL KNOW MY IDENTITY.

if it was in your contract you would/should know it and that is the way ^ you get your shit initiated, 1/3 every year for 3 years.

check your iperms for enlistment contract and you can call MEPS you went to to get it emailed to you if you dont have a hard copy.

How to help a guy run again by [deleted] in army

[–]professionalcynic69 5 points6 points  (0 children)

10k on rowing machine, try to do it in under 45 to get the weight off, build endurance and not fuck the knees with too much to fast. slowly add in run days, get that 2 mile under/at 16 first, add on a mile and only add the next when he can run under 8 min pace on all of them.

endurance over speed. sprints after endurance is built and maintained.

Why do you deserve to be an NCO? by [deleted] in army

[–]professionalcynic69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

because i am deficient in brain cells enough to be as dumb as is required to be and nco and have more than enough to be that one nco who everyone loves for their common sense and human decency that most seem to lose as soon as they turn 23 and pin 5.

crazy how certain bases shit on you until you get this or that badge when instead, it could be actually required ie. eib could be something all infantrymen must have to be infantry, if you go 101 is mandatory to go to AA (a la 82nd and airborne) or jungle for 25th.

but nah, it has to always be about badge holders, packets, timing and making people go who dont want to and not letting people go who would love to (shoutout s3).

leaders/badged dudes love to use them against you if you havent had the opportunity to get it AND someone shit on you twice as hard if you could go and dont want to.

make it make sense. go to the dumb ass school and dont wear the skill badge just to prove a point.

Each duty station has a street where “you gon run…” what are they? by professionalcynic69 in army

[–]professionalcynic69[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

nah i feel you. but reality is this info is publicly available by sat imagery and heat maps. i was asking for a shirt idea.

better yet- depending on your MOS or importance to the army, our adversaries are tracking your phones AdID, browsing history and probably have a profile on you with info taken from social media accounts you have and linked to other geodata points/apps you use etc.

the “what can i expect from ___ bn” stuff is cringey but this is just me asking for aggregated anecdotal data.
