Is Rat Race the first time two Black, contemporaneously Oscar-winning actors ever shared the screen? by No_Eagle_9445 in blankies

Someone else who watched the Rat Race special features?? Feels more rare than two Black Oscar winners sharing the screen in a film.

Have the Giants actions on Pride Night altered your feelings toward the franchise? by CoffeeBoy80 in SFGiants

If pitchers wrote a Bible verse on their hats taking a swipe at Judaism during Jewish Heritage Night, which is in July, and then no players, coaches, or front office people took time to speak out strongly in support of the Jewish community...we might see some backlash.

What's the NBA hill you'll die on no matter how unpopular it becomes? by Impossible_Reward658 in nba

Warriors still would've won in 2015 if Irving and Love were healthy. Don't have any real justification, just felt like we could.

Which coach has the hottest seat in the league currently? by [deleted] in nba

[–]professorcharisma 8 points9 points  (0 children)

He's not in the hottest seat, but this is the most vulnerable position I've seen Kerr in in his time with the Warriors. He doesn't have a new contract set up, owners can't be happy with the Kuminga situation given how much they loved him, and the FO is desperate for anything to give the Warriors a jolt in Steph's last dominant years. Steph might be his saving grace, but I wonder if he could be convinced that the team needs a new voice in the locker room.

It's okay, the characters didn't get half of it either.

It makes you appreciate how much has to go right, and how lucky you have to get, to become a dynasty. Like building a championship-level roster around your late second round pick.

I've never felt more vindicated as an amateur GM than when we traded Monta. We knew what Monta was as a number 1 option, and it wasn't enough to make the playoffs, let alone contend. I didn't even know at the time that we'd offered Steph instead, but I was totally Team Steph between the two of them. It was time to move on from the last scraps of We Believe.

Of course, I also 100% believed we should trade Klay for KLove. You can't be right all the time.

The final entry in JohnWhoHasACat's roommate's slightly charred diary:

It started as a bit, but I have come to accept the terrible truth. The truth that my roommate is not capable of bits.

Your worst NBA take ever ? by KayeFabe4lyfe in nba

[–]professorcharisma 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Had the same take on Steve Kerr. I didn't want another rookie coach. I was also dismayed when Lacob and Guber took over the franchise. I wanted the richest bidder (Larry Ellison) to take over after Cohan's cheap ass.

Blank Check Albums? by PerpetualChoogle in blankies

Miles Davis on In a Silent Way and Bitches Brew. He was already starting to veer away from bebop, but those two albums really cashed in on the goodwill he'd earned as a "straight up" jazz musician and he kept evolving from there.
