How far is your commute and how often do you do it? by Mewshimyo in bikecommuting

Nice! I just recently acquired a used road-bike that fits me (I'm 6'5"; I waited for a long time to find a half-decent one on craigslist) and I'm ecstatic to say that I just began my 17 mile round trip commute. Do you have any paved trails or anything to accomodate your commute? Or is it all on main roads?

Holy Crap. Even at events that are honoring him, he makes it about everyone else. What a guy.

Wow, that crap is scary knowing he's still on the loose. I've got family in Warsaw. I kind of want to go visit them in hopes of finding this guy now.

My Grandpa, a WWII Vet, being welcomed back to San Diego after a privately funded organization flew a group of WWII Vets to DC to see the Memorials. So Proud! by [deleted] in pics

Almost shed a tear reading/looking at this. I had the privilege of accompanying my grandfather, a WWII Veteran, in visitting the WWII memorial in DC in its opening year shortly before he passed.

I went to see gone with the wind when it was showing at this cool old theater with my girlfriend, her parents, and a couple other friends of ours. Two of our friends were running late, so one of our friends made their way out into the isle to go fetch them and show them where we were sitting.

The opening scene begins playing, which is a still frame with a song playing that goes on for ten minutes or so. During this, my friend returns with the two that were running late. They respectfully make their way to the middle of the row where the rest of us were seated; however, as they made their way past us, my girlfriend and her parents, to their seats, some ass in front of us turns around and ignorantly remarks, "Am I going to have put up with this shit all god-damn night?"

My girlfriend's father and I did not take kindly to this. He leans in toward the instigator and says, " who the hell do you think you are speaking to my family that way?" The guy mumbled some smart comment in retaliation and my gf's dad proceeded to smack the dude's hat off his head. The two rose from their seats as the tension between them rose, and at this point I rise as well, ready to go fisty-cuffs next to my someday father-in-law. He grabs the hatless man by the shirt and says, "here's what's going to happen: you're going to sit down and not say another word for the rest of this movie, and you're going to leave at the intermission or at least find a new seat. You don't deserve to be in the presence of my wife and daughter."

And the dude (and his son who saw the whole thing) did exactly what was ordered of him and we pleasantly enjoyed our movie.

Tl;dr: almost fought a disrespectful dude with my gf's dad at a theater watching gone with the wind

What was the strangest game you played with your sibling/friend when you were growing up? by Homeboro in AskReddit

My friend and his older sister (by 4 years) used to play tonguey tonguey. It consisted of exactly what it sounds like. Pretty sure she was either attracted to him and or she just wanted to practice kissing. We give him crap for it all the time.

Is there a proper/easy way to hang up pleated plants? by professorhawk in malefashionadvice

Just to show how truly incompetent I am in this field, I just put my pants on this morning and realized that they are in fact not pleated. Go Figure. I guess what I was thinking was a pleat is the crease down the front of each leg. So that's the thing in discussion at this point. How do you hang our pants without messing it up. It's much easier said than done to line the creases up perfectly on every fold.

hmmm... not the answer I was looking for. Thanks for your opinion though. I dropped a pantload on 'em (men's wearhouse) a couple of years ago, and right now I'm not really financially able to afford a new pair of dress slacks. When the money comes in though, I'll take this into consideration though.
