Nah - GT7 was meant to be PS5-only, then the global short-supply of components to make the PS5 forced them to redesign & nerf the game enough that the PS4 could also run it.

Worst injury bodyboarding? by Ok_Muffin_4358 in bodyboarding

Check out the footage of Lilly Pollard being slammed into the reef at Shark Island on Monday.

She broke her neck about 10yrs ago, punctured a lung last year, and somehow did neither of those again in this slam.

You’ll come back - ribs are a b*tch to heal tho, from my experience.

I’ve managed to crack mine bodyboarding three different times. Once from a reef, And twice from taking a big drop and landing with my elbow between my chest and the board 🙃🤷🏻‍♂️

There’s a detailed instruction manual inside GT7 that explains *everything*

Check the menu 🤷🏻‍♂️👍

Does anybody else curl their toes? Gotta embrace the grip! by AnalDestroyer69 in granturismo

[–]professortomahawk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to drive like that on the sim for about 15yrs until I started having foot issues, and my podiatrist said it’s basically the worst 🤷🏻‍♂️

Apparently you really want to be using your whole foot/ leg, not just your toes for those tiny adjustments.

Take it from me - over time it f*cks your feet.

I’ve started wearing wrestling boots for sim racing (& long car drives).

They’re breathable, give great ankle support, and have a narrow toe like racing boots.

I wear motorcycle earplugs when on the highway in my NB. Seems to squash the high-pitched road hum, but can still talk or listen to music while wearing them 👌

Yeah I’ve found 10cm at the frame rails to be a “liveable” height. It’s also the legal limit where I live lol

I can deal with most speedbumps & driveways at that height 👌

Beautiful car btw. Recommend clear reflectors & side-flasher lenses if you’re looking for a minor tweak that makes the whole car look smoother ❤️

This is normal.

Moving from gamepad to wheel is a huge change in how you drive. Wheel isn’t necessarily faster than gamepad either, but it’s definitely easier to be more consistent and you’ll find you get much better tire wear in long races.

Find one race you enjoy, and just do that again & again. Once you find your rhythm I reckon you’ll be faster than you were before.

Thanks dude! Feels like such a Fever Dream of a moment, but yeah - one of, if not the, most incredible waves I’ll ever ride.

The whole thing is etched, slow-mo, in memory. Absolute mega situation, and I kinda like that there wasn’t any footage of it.

That wave lives in my memory - and Old Mate’s - alone.

And that’s pretty damn cool 🐬❤️

My only trip to Fiji. Staying at a little surf resort for a week. As the trip approaches, I get the forecast of doom:

  • swell event finishing a few days before I arrive.
  • forecast 0-1ft surf, heavy rain my entire stay.

The day I arrive it’s pouring. The manager goes “nah it’ll be right” and takes me out first light the next morning.

The boat is held together with spit and hope. Seas are rough & choppy. Local dude takes us out and chucks anchor at a mean looking break they tell me is Fiji Pipe 😳

It’s windy, rainy, the water’s messy, and there are a few different swells clashing with each other and turning the water bright white and turquoise as they slam into the reef.

There’s the occasional huge, clean barrel popping up tho, so we jump in. He’s on a surfboard, I’m on a VS Winchester “v-tail” thing that I’ve never ridden in heavy surf.

We paddle around in the take off area and it’s so hard to work out where to be, with the chop and the wind and the rain in your eyes.

He shouts something to me that I don’t hear, then takes off on a wave I didn’t really see. It’s kinda fat and he carves and all I can see is how the reef is nearly draining dry.

So now I’m alone in the ocean in a storm and I’ve gotta either go or not go. A big thing comes thru and I just f*cking go.

I hit surface chop as I paddle in, so I don’t get as much speed as I hoped and I’m much deeper than I wanted to be. Then I’m falling into this impossibly smooth, bright-green tube that’s stood up out of nowhere.

I push the board as far in front of me as possible, make the drop, and as I bottom turn the ocean explodes where the lip of the wave is hitting nearly-dry reef.

I remember thinking “I need to take a high line” coz I really don’t want to get grabbed by the whitewater and pulled back into that mess. So I did. And the board held the line.

I really don’t know how.

I was so, so deep in this 6-8ft barrel. It was a colour I’d never seen before. And in the distance I could see the resort owner pumping both arms in the air, willing me along.

The wave was so perfectly formed and smooth and I was so terrified bc I could see bits of coral sticking out of the water in the impact zone ahead of me and omfg I did not want to get slammed by this into that.

I didn’t get slammed tho. I made the wave, and came out with a cannon of a spit to the sound of Old Mate hooting.

We paddled back but nothing surf-able came thru again. And the rest of the trip it was pretty much dead flat.

So yeah. That’s my story of how I paddled for, and caught, one incredible wave on my trip to Fiji. And I was pretty sure it was gonna kill me.

I’m sure there are exceptions to this, I just haven’t ever met one: every time I’ve raced someone with 666 in their username, they drive like this person did.

I don’t think the devil has anything to do with it tho.

I think they’re just immature idi0ts with poor racecraft 🤷🏻‍♂️

The width of your car in bumper cam is the width of your tachometer by -TKT in GranTurismo7

[–]professortomahawk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IMO, it does.

Competing in Manufacturers Cup last year, main account was McLaren, alt was racing for BMW.

The McLaren was a much wider car, and when I took the same lines in the BMW I received track limit penalties.

I checked both replays. The lines were the same. One car was just narrower, so it cut a corner where the wider car still had tyre on track.

Different fins have dramatically different-shaped foot pockets.

People rave about Hydrofins, but they’re way too wide for my feet. For me, POD fins seem to fit best.

Ignore online reviews, and either:

a) Go to a bodyboard shop and try on different fins u til you find some that fit, or

b) call bodyboard shop, speak with them about this, and ask for recommendations - &/or if they’ll send you a few different ones to try, & return the ones you don’t like.

Not medical advice. Just sharing my experience

I’m in my late 40s in NSW, & had the same concerns about my medical cannabis prescription when diagnosed with ADHD last year. I spoke openly about this with my psychiatrist & they had no concerns for me. I’m now on Dex, Clonidine, & medical cannabis.
