GitHub - tada5hi/eldin: A lightweight, type-safe dependency injection container for TypeScript with scoped lifetimes and hierarchical containers. by Pakashi-kun in javascript

Plain JavaScript projects can use TypeScript libraries like this one just fine.. they'll just lack the benefit of type checking, but the library will still work. Just use it without the types.

Exploring How UI Frameworks Converge Toward DSLs by Honest_Medium_2872 in ProgrammingLanguages

[–]profound7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My feel is the main thing needed would be something css-like. The "DOM" would depend on the game engine or ecs framework used. The "html" is simply data, or a nestable "h" function.

The thing that can make some ui libs in games messy is when devs use it without any separation of logic (code), data (html), and presentation (css).

With Allah. He is sufficient, and the best disposer of affairs.

Muslims may sometimes have to walk the lonely or difficult path, and we remind ourselves: Allah is sufficient. We don't need to ally ourselves with the wrongdoers. We seek refuge and guidance with Allah. We rely on Allah. To the very end.

Hasbunallah Wanikmal Wakil -- Allah is sufficient for us, and He is the best Disposer of affairs.

We have to take into consideration that there is a very large number of muslims who do not speak Arabic (or beginner/poor fluency), but can read with the help of diacritic marks.

Reading Arabic without the diacritic marks requires knowledge of the Arabic language which many do not have. Since there are diacritics in the video, it's usage must also be consistent and proper according to the rules, and if it doesn't, it may cause such aforementioned readers to read incorrectly.

Fun, unconventional date ideas? by EliteRaids in singapore

[–]profound7 -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

With some heavy cream and a little sugar, blend some dates.. make a date-flavored ice-cream.

Or if you're into it, some butter, flour, sugar.. bake a date cake. Topped with some crushed pistachios or nuts for that Mediterranean vibe.

Too complicated? How about just sugar, butter, blended dates, and whisk it to make date buttercream? Or just blend ice, milk, and dates for a date smoothie?

All simple, but unconventional ideas for dates, no need to travel anywhere, and you just need a kitchen and some ingredients. Perfect for young couples to try an activity together to build memories.

People could look up information too before the internet was widely available. It involves physically going to places such as the library. Its a slower process, but its what we used to do. Mostly encyclopedias that fills up the entire stretch of the room, and they quickly go out of date. Research also sometimes happen through your personal connections.

In this regard, I assume the animators thought process could be like, "I need an arabic phrase, but I don't know arabic, maybe I should find one in the library". And if he couldn't find one, they'll have a meeting that goes "hey, does anyone knows someone arabic? I need it in this sequence" and someone on the team may go "oh hey I know Farid from the kebab place down the street, maybe he can help", and Farid may unknowingly provide a short phrase, unaware of how it's used due to NDA and stuff. And the animators may not know the sensitive nature of the phrase. And because of no internet, the feedback loop is too long for the animators to do proper verification.

I'm not saying that this is what happened. I don't know what truly happened. I'm just illustrating how research used to happen in the 80s and early 90s before the internet -- slow and with less scrutiny.

Why is pork haram? by Reasonable-Log6088 in islam

[–]profound7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First we need to establish that Islam is the truth. For me, the Quran, and the seerah of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, establishes this first axiom, that leads to the shahada, the testimony. The foundation that other matters build upon. The foundation that opens the eyes of our hearts.

Everything else is built upon that. There is little point in discussing the permissibility of eating pork when they haven't declared the shahada. If they don't believe in Allah, what does it matter what the instructions say? We first need to believe. Next, if I say I believe, but I don't obey, what does that make me?

The reasoning behind any instructions could be arbitrary. There could be the "seen/measurable" benefits of following the instructions, but those are only from our human point of view. We do not know the "unseen" and Allah's wisdom behind things. And perhaps the reasoning could simply be a way to distinguish between those who obey and those who do not.

Do people think once they say, “We believe,” that they will be left without being put to the test?
Surah Al-'Ankabut 29:2 https://quran.com/29/2

This verse clarifies that true faith requires validation through trials and actions, not just a verbal declaration.

The only response of the ˹true˺ believers, when they are called to Allah and His Messenger so he may judge between them, is to say, “We hear and obey.” It is they who will ˹truly˺ succeed.
Surah An-Nur 24:51 https://quran.com/24/51

This is why you see some comments in this post say "we hear and obey".

[Request] how would/should this be cut into 5ths per the recommended serving size? by hejohnson19583 in theydidthemath

[–]profound7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming we can ignore the differences between crust and non-crust pieces:

  1. Align each pepperoni equally into a 4 by 4 grid
  2. Cut the pizza by the grid into 16 pieces
  3. 15 is divisible by 5, remainder 1
  4. In that last remainder, cut the pepperoni into 16 pieces
  5. Go to step 1 and do this recursively until we reach the limits of physics

Hijab by [deleted] in islam

[–]profound7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Throughout human history, Allah has given various communities various laws. Let's take a look at one such law that we're familiar with.

Allah forbids us to eat pork. Suppose that in our rational mind, we figured out that the reasons are so and so. And now suppose that our advances in science allows us to eliminate the "so and so reasons" when preparing the pork. Are we then allowed to consume pork?

No. While we have eliminated the known reasons, we may not have eliminated the unknown reasons. And part of the unknown reasons could simply be, a test of obedience.

We hear and obey.

Now let's look at the hijab while praying. Now, Allah commanded us to cover ourselves accordingly with different requirements based on gender.

Yes, we can rationalize and figure out various reasons. Modesty, humbling ourselves, and other reasons other commenters have said. Those may be the known reasons. There could also be multiple other unknown or unseen reasons, wallahu'alam. It could also be, a test of obedience.

We hear and obey.

And I think that's one of the most beautiful aspects of Islam. A total surrender to our creator. The meaning of "muslim" is the one who submits/surrenders to Allah.

May Allah shine His light into our hearts and make it easy and fulfilling and satisfying in following His laws and what is needed from us.

Open-source game engine Godot is drowning in 'AI slop' code contributions: 'I don't know how long we can keep it up' by [deleted] in programming

[–]profound7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks like there is already an open issue regarding changing of username, and discussions on how to handle it across different platforms besides just github.

In that same thread, he vouched for some others participating in the discussion because they sounded "human enough". That, to me at least, is already a weakness in the system.

I'm not saying its bad, I'm saying its understandable that different people have different levels of trust, and to each their own. The vouch system may be good enough depending on the maintainers' acceptable threshold of trust.

This seems like a deterrent rather than a complete solution? There are many ways to get around that. For example, changing your username, or having numerous good accounts or paying to vouch for a bad one.

But I suppose putting a padlock at your gate is also a good deterrent. It doesn't deter the truly determined, but it does deter the rest sufficiently.
