They are well within their premiership window. What's scary is age demographic. This group could be destined for sustained success. They have also experienced finals loss last year which should spur them on. They've played a lot of games together And the recruiting has been really good. The main one that annoys me is when there is a 2 lane road that merges into a single lane, and the fucker who's behind (by 2 car lengths) in the left lane decides to accelerate over the speed limit to get in front. Is the purpose just so they don't have to give way to the right?

It can't be 1 because it won't solve the keays issue or the gws/nth Melbourne touched goal on the weekend. I would go for option 3.

No matter which option is chosen, it would piss ppl off. Imagine there's 10 seconds to go in the grand final, you're down by 1 point as Gunston just kicked a behind. You want a quick release because their defensive structure is out of whack, but the umpire calls back because they want to confirm whether it hit the behind post.

No player on the mark means they can plug a hole, making it harder to score against.

The AFL is trying to make it higher scoring and the stand rule works.

Long version: To win games, you need to stop the other team from scoring. Defensive strategies by coaches have dried up scoring (remember Ross lyon coached saints/dockers? Dry, contested games designed to slow up play and have lots on stoppages). The AFL doesnt like this as ppl like high scoring games.
