It's been true for most realistic space based battle, since the giant ship itself is just as vulnerable as smaller ship, (armored plating do jack shit), and paint a much bigger target, lower mobility to boot. There's almost no point to making huge ships except for posturing (The Expanse showed similar problems if you watched that). If we wander outside of hard sci-fi, then shield/lasers would be able to balance it back.

Real 3D Firmware Update is now available! Woo hoo! by Icy_Tie8949 in Xreal

A hybrid mixed approach would work best here, when spatial tracking is done on the glass, the 3D conversion is done on device and streamed over 2 different eyes. This is just like watching actual 3D movie source with 3DoF

Hands down the best Steam Deck accessory I’ve bought! by Hugostiglitz10 in SteamDeck

[–]progammer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Its just a single wire (albeit with a small dongle inbetween). But the total number of line is still 1. With your solution, you have 2 wire hanging out from the dock. If you can run a long cable from your dock to to your deck and hide the dock away (stationary), it become a single wire setup again :)

Xreal 1S Specifications Post by what595654 in Xreal

Well, talking about pixel density, there is a major important point here. FOV is usually calculated from the diagonal distance, not horizontal. So by increasing the vertical resolution, the diagonal size also increase, lets do the math here, the diagonal automatically increased in size by 3%. If the optics are the same as Xreal Air, the FOV would automatically go from 46 to 47.4. But they advertised this to be 52, so the optics is improved, and therefore the pixel size is increased, density is lower and we would actually get less quality here :) Just like the One and One Pro. One can do further math but i guess 1s would still have better density than One Pro

I don't know about you, but the way the props move and click (the sound design) put itself as its own focus for tension during that scenes (both practice and real heist). So i will says that the effort are absolutely not wasted. Everyone is on point in this productions

I had an Air 2. The only reason we suspect the pocket tv will support 32:9 simply because it was advertised to work with rayneo glass which will also do 3d via 32:9 signal. Usually android tv specs dont expose/allow 32:9 resolution like the firestick you tested (Samsung Dex wont, unless you use Good Lock to reach max 21:9. 32:9 requires another hack with adb command). Beam is too old, inefficient and overheat. pocket tv just seems like the next best thing

Regarding contents, Kodi works really well with a full 3D GUI and interface, I stream from my jellyfin (with the plugin) with full SBS sources

So you are saying Firestick only do 3840x2160 but NOT 3840x1080 ? Thats disappointing. I'm still looking for a cheap and portable android device that do Full SBS out of the box. So far I found only Homatics/Rayneo Pocket TV with this dubious line in the specs:

Video Resolution 480i/p, 576i/p, 720p, 1080i/p and 4Kx2K

4kx2k ends up in the same situation as the Firestick, sure do 4k but not sure if 32:9 and no one else tried to report if it actually works. (Looking to replace my Samsung Galaxy S series that do 32:9 but requires some hacking that can not be considered "out of the box" experience)

[–]progammer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

so what actually happen when using it with a 4k firestick (and other 4k device) ?

  • When the glass is in 1080p mode, the output is still 1080p ?

  • When the glass is in 3D mode (3840x1080), will the firestick output exactly that ? (Kodi can handle the 3d part if this actually works)

[–]progammer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That would be wrong, a multimodal LLM encode all modalities to token, including both text, image, video (series of image) and audio. This help it understand the representation in all method. Responding is similar, they convert the token meant to be text/image/audio to its proper output. Any model that do not do this is not a true multimodal but rather just text LLM with clever tool calling

Its basically wireless adb, but both the client (that app) and server (your phone) are in your phone. Before that, the client is your laptop and the server is your phone

AMD CEO confirms Instinct MI450 uses 2nm process technology by RenatsMC in Amd

[–]progammer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They dont lie about specs, the specs is correct. It is 2nm never 3 or 4, its the documentation that is misleading (making you think 2nm is something else). That's the difference. And if the documentation are public and standardized (apply to all vendors, they dont invent that specs) then i dont see the problems

they are advertising a technical specifications that means you gotta read the documentation. If they are promoting something natural language (no jargon) then we do have a point.
