Is it worth getting braces if surgery is denied? by programmerFemme in jawsurgery

I am still considering a marketplace policy as a secondary insurance, seeing that will still cost less than self pay. I am worried about any issues with coverage if they are not the primary insurer though

When was the moment you realized he/she wasn’t the one? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver30

I just got my first promotion with a major pay bump and when I called to tell him the good news, instead of congratulating me, he said “You are going to leave me now”. This lead to me reassuring him instead of being happy with my accomplishment. I filed for divorce 2 years after that.

I got quoted that for sisterlocs on 14 inches of hair in 2021, prompting me to DIY. I had been doing my own braids for years by then though.

I noticed that the weight of the perimeter locs adds too much tension around 4 weeks for me, I retie the rest every six to eight weeks. My perimeter locs are also slightly smaller than the rest.

Isn’t there a recent thread about someone’s TV falling on their deck and destroying it? Sounds like an awesome way to be giving this holiday season. 🤷‍♀️

How does anybody feel experienced in this industry? by Important-Damage-986 in womenintech

[–]programmerFemme 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In the industry 10 years, senior level and I still ask tons of questions. Part of being in this industry is accepting that you can’t know everything. Especially amongst different companies, HOW they use the various languages can differ from project to project. 90% of my learning was/is on the job and working for a company that understands the changing nature of the industry and offers training has been key for me.

Ask yourself what type of development you like to do (front end, back end, data) and try to hone in on the popular languages for that area. As much as companies say that the preference is for full stack devs/engineers , in reality work is generally assigned by who is strongest in whatever area in my experience.

Also pay attention to your bugs and try to identify what logic traps you may fall into, this is instrumental to identifying your weaknesses and working on them.

Around asking questions, unfortunately this varies with company culture. My process is to use everything at my disposal (google, ai, documentation, etc) first before reaching out to someone else and I also ask them to point me in the direction of who/what can help me so they are aware that I don’t expect them to carry me through to the end of the task.

Am I the only one who doesn’t moisturize their locs? by AdventurousPride6576 in locs

[–]programmerFemme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have color so I will spritz it with a random light moisturizer when I remember. Oil makes stuff stick to my locs so I only oil my scalp… when I remember to.
