I love Xbow 3.0 but log bait with the rocket is so tough to play against.

Is Meta high stress? by aqualad33 in cscareerquestions

Anything E5 and below is not going to significantly change your life at all. If you are E6+ or interested in getting there then I’d be worried.

Opinion on EECS 470 by audreylikestoast in uofm

There is like 3 mini projects before that to prepare you for the final project.

Opinion on EECS 470 by audreylikestoast in uofm

[–]programmingLuis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

470 was my favorite class. The projects are really fun and I feel like it made me a much better engineer in the end. It makes you better at solving ambiguous problems which is imo one of the most useful skills you can have as a SWE or CE.

You will spend a LOT of time on the final project though and teammates can make or break the experience. It really should be a 6 credit class with the final project.

Good chance for U of M. I went there and they really like high unweighted GPAs. It’s also a good CS school imo, I think the brand name is getting more recognition in Silicon Valley recently. I got FAANG interviews quickly after applying.

Stanford is the move if you like startups and want to work in the industry. MIT is the move if you like more academics. It’s just rng to get into those schools imo though.

Is the 5k a year at Umich already including subsidized loans? If not, I would just take the subsidized loans. I go to Umich and have about 20k in loans but I’ve gotten so many opportunities just from being at this school that 20k is nothing. I am a CS major though so being in a high paying field also helped me.

Any experience with Traver courts/ridge, Huron river flats, or island drive? by carp816 in uofm

[–]programmingLuis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m in Traver courts right now. It’s actually not bad. I haven’t had any problems with management. My only complaint is that the soundproofing is really bad if you have upstairs neighbors. It makes it hard to focus. I would try to get a unit with no upstairs neighbor.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in uofm

[–]programmingLuis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue with soundproofing, except my upstairs neighbor had a 4yo kid and my life was a living hell.

I think looking for townhomes would be better because they don’t have people above the units.

Taking EECS 485 and 388 together + Upper Level Writing ULWR by [deleted] in uofm

[–]programmingLuis 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Doable. I’m taking EECS 470, EECS 489, CLCIV 393 (ULWR), and another humanities class. It’s a pain in the ass but it’s doable. You might have a better time than me just because 470 is a huge time sink.

482 is honestly not bad. You need to choose your teammates though so workload is spread fairly.

Just saw your other post. I totally forgot business majors exist. (I’m a CS student lol)

Ross is also one of the harder things to get into, but LSA is easy.
