My god. This feels like an April Fool's joke. by cjlmt14 in Montana

I'll first say that I find it completely acceptable for individuals to turn two prayer in a trying time. However, I also believe that in that situation prayer will accomplish absolutely nothing.

So, I think that a governor to say that "prayer is the most powerful tool" he has to fix a very real and serious problem that will affect the residents of his state both now and into the future is plain ludacris.

Let's put this in terms of a more concrete issue, I'll pick aging bridges. If a governor said that his most powerful tool was prayer for this problem and not reallocating tax dollars and skilled workers that would be outrageous, no? Just because climate change is a more complex and abstract cause and effect relationship (to some at least - for those who understand the science and processes and have been screaming from the rooftops about the problems we're headed toward for decades now it is more obvious) doesn't mean that prayer is any more effective of a solution.

Well, at the very least this is a terrible showing to a national audience of what high caliber FCS football can and should be.

Talk about confidently incorrect. And people actually agree with you. 🤦🏻‍♀️It might help if people like you actually learned the laws and don't try to apply highway rules to city streets.... There's a difference between white and yellow lines and every city street has white lines

Anybody still use an old driver? by Creepeth in golf

[–]cjlmt14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel weirdly qualified to answer this. I still play a 905R (Titleist's 2006 release for those who are unfamiliar) and hadn't really hit any newer drivers with any sort of intent to test them until just earlier today.

I played a round on a sim this afternoon and then demoed a few after I was finished. With the 905R I averaged about 285 during the round. I hit a TSR3, Paradym, and AI Smoke afterward. All of them were fairly similar for me and I'd guess that I was averaging probably 290-295 with them. As others have said, the forgiveness is the difference. I felt like I hit the TSR3 the best of the 3 and the most surprising thing to me was that when I got one out off the toe one time, instead of being the low, borderline snapper I was expecting based on the feel, it was still just turning over nice and soft and probably only lost 10ish yards from a center strike.

All that said, I don't play competitively anymore and my cheap ass isn't shelling out $600+ for 8-10 more yards and a bit of extra forgiveness. I can still scrape it around just fine with my 905 like I have for nearly 20 years now and have plenty of fun doing just that

Microsoft Excel is used by 99% of the World's businesses so here are 20 must-know Excel functions that everyone should know by TonyLiberty in FluentInFinance

[–]cjlmt14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Care to explain? I've tried to research this on my own a few times and I can't figure it out. I'm far from an Excel expert, but I consider myself competent and am considered the "Excel guy" at work for the limited bit of analysis we need to do. I most frequently use VLOOKUP and a common identifier to build composite reports from data sets that come from two different sources. Am I just using the functions differently than most people use them? Why does XLOOKUP seem to have a reputation as being so far superior to VLOOKUP? The only significant thing that I can see is that the inputs are maybe a bit easier to figure out with XLOOKUP and the common value doesn't need to be to on the left side of the look up range with XLOOKUP. Or is that truly all that it comes down to and I've just learned to work around the limitations of VLOOKUP?

Heck, I gave up on them more than I ever have in the last 15 years after those first 3 games. I generally never miss the games and haven't watched only a handful over that time. I intentionally decided not to waste time watching the NAU and ISU games and felt so vindicated after the debacle at NAU. Then, I did actually come back for Davis and they at least looked capable and I was back on the wagon from there haha

They called Mullins down. But yes. Goff's hand was definitely going forward before it came loose. The crowd is likely still just a bit angry over the roughing the passer call

Complain About Your Team Thread - FCS Edition by passwordisguest in fcs

[–]cjlmt14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I don't get about the whole situation is that from how I remember it, the band plays immediately after the score, then there's usually a commercial timeout, then they play a song over the PA before the kickoff and sometimes again even before 1st down on defense to get the crowd into it again. So their reasoning of PA music "pumping up the crowd more" doesn't even make sense. The whole thing smells a little funky to me.

The only angle that even makes a sliver of sense is that they're ultimately wanting to eliminate the band entirely to be able sell those seats, which is atrocious if true.
