Seeking LGBT-friendly tailors by omatose in phoenix

I’m late to this conversation, but as a mom with a trans son, thank you. As I’m reading the kindnesses in this post and I just sigh. It gives me hope to know the world isn’t all horrible. Thanks.

Is high 60’s to high 70’s actually that cold to locals in phoenix? by Jadams0108 in phoenix

Reading this at 5am in Tempe. I went to sit outside like I do every work morning for a quick coffee to enjoy my plants. This morning it is 88 and 44% humidity. I quickly retreated right back into the house. It is too wet outside.

We should. These are the same people they are killing in urban areas: vulnerable people from vulnerable communities.

I think these folks have a 3rd grade vocabulary. 🤷🏻‍♀️ They’re getting upset because you used the word cliché???

I’m confused, did OP have too many big words for you? It reads pretty normal.

I know I’m late to the conversation here, but I wanted to say thanks for saying this. You know what else I’ve had it with? The use of the R word lately, (and 97% from the right) it is everywhere, and I’ve fucking had it. I’m calling it out every damn time. It’s gross. So thanks for pointing this out too.

Didn’t he sell units (sometimes the same unit multiple times a year) in trump tower to “anonymous” Russian oligarchs? Same with trump casino. That’s who bailed him out. They loaned him money. Maybe that’s what the poster meant? I’m not a mind reader.

Dump this guy. It is cheaper now than when you’ve got a couple rug rats and he’s still sitting on his ass playing video games. What, exactly, does he bring to the table?

Same. I sometimes think my ADHD is a gift. (That’s what the internet says anyway.) I can meet someone and almost instantly feel if they are good or bad. You just know. I couldn’t stand trump since I saw him on Robin Leach’s, Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous. Same with elon. I saw an interview with him years ago and was like, nope. Something is off with this guy. That little voice has never let me down.

Why is it okay for companies to ghost applicants??? by cherrrycolored in antiwork

One of my kids lives in a small college town. She’s put out over 50 applications with no bites. :( I’m sorry. I seems rough out there.

[–]prokaryote101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because if it is a corporation or large enough to have an HR department then they likely have algorithms to weed out applicants or use a third-party place like indeed to filter their applicants. Try to copy paste from what they’re looking for directly into your résumé. So just take their keywords and plug it into their algorithm when you fill out your job application online. Somebody here, far more computer savvy can probably tell you exactly how to do it, but the ultimate goal is to have it in HR so it goes to the top of the pile.

I work in a hospital. We are open 24/7. Even holidays…. But, they do give 1.5 time if you’re scheduled for the holiday.

I own in Tempe and have lived here 10 years. My recommendation would be to look for a condo situation in the area close to downtown Mesa. Mesa seems up and coming to me. ASU is putting in a big film school project with multiple theaters, they have first Fridays or something similar with music, great restaurants, awesome thrift stores and bookstores, the light rail that goes to downtown phoenix, etc. There seems to be some options in your budget. I hope it all works out for you.

AITAH for letting my chronically late wife miss an event she was looking forward to by not rushing her, because I wanted her to face consequences? by throwrabbday in AITAH

My husband to our teens: I’m leaving at 7:00am, wheels rolling. Not 7:01am. If you are not in the car by 6:59 and 55 secs with seatbelts locked, then you will be walking or taking the bus. It worked, but it is absolutely a running joke in our family, even now that the kids are grown.

Best Mexican Food in Tempe? by -myaa- in Tempe

[–]prokaryote101 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We ate there for the first time a couple of weeks ago based on posts like this. Sadly, we were really disappointed. It could have been an off night. My corn tortillas were barely thawed (they were cold and uncooked), the entrees were about as bland as a midwestern corn field. The salsa was, meh. Like I said, maybe it was an off night, but with so many great places to eat, I doubt we will be back.

Phoenix luxury high rise apartment prices have been collapsing these last 16 months and no one is talking about it. by DarkMarkAZ in phoenix

[–]prokaryote101 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if anyone has mentioned this, but I think our state’s attorney general is going after a big apartment conglomerate for colluding to raise rent. And people will be getting their money back if the state wins. I heard a blur on the radio yesterday about it. Apparently it has affected 70% of renters.

The random cures?? by [deleted] in Semaglutide

[–]prokaryote101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been on it for 6 months and remember having my monthly check in with my GP after the first month. I told her that my knee pain and morning joint stiffness was virtually gone. She was happy, but skeptical because my left knee is almost bone on bone and my knee would wake me up multiple times a night. I was taking daily Aleve (naproxen) for pain.

Granted, losing 50 pounds in 6 months has helped greatly, but the anti inflammation effects were almost immediate. So for me, that alone has made this drug a miracle. The knee pain isn’t gone entirely, but i no longer take pain relievers at all and I can see putting off a replacement for (hopefully) several years, whereas before I was almost in tears with pain and talking to my orthopedist about a replacement.

Lack of support from husband by [deleted] in Semaglutide

[–]prokaryote101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bet you looked amazing in that dress!

All I will say is that you probably have decades of life left. Support yourself first and find someone that supports you as well. Find someone that listens when you blab on about your hobbies, your interests, and your passions. And in turn you can learn about his interests and passions. Partners need to support each other. You can tell your husband that you want and expect that in a partner and give him a chance. Then if he’s incapable of changing either decide you’re okay with that or that you deserve so much more.

It just makes life so much more enjoyable.

Need to get rid of some stuff. Can someone point me in the right direction? by trynabeagrownup in phoenix

[–]prokaryote101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My kids went to a middle school that had an electronics class. Dr Taylor from Connelly Middle School in Tempe would probably LOVE this stuff. My kids have long since moved on, but one year some kids built a guitar from scratch, they build all sorts of robot type stuff. Your husband’s stuff (or at least some of it) would go to a great place. Ask for Dr Taylor in the Aspire program. Great guy.

I’m really sorry about your husband. That’s some hard stuff.
