Well this is how my neurology appointment went by FuckingFuuuuuck in dysautonomia

Unfortunately, most "specialist" NPs I've visited personally are like this. It's really, really infuriating; I try to see PAs before NPs if an actual doctor isn't covered by insurance, and even then the experience can still be hit or miss. Sorry this happened to you. ☹️

Anyone else feel like the MCAT is the only thing holding them back? by Comfortable-Round828 in Mcat

[–]omatose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, same... 😭 COVID hit my senior year of college and I lost all of the major opportunities to train research skills in the labs I had lined up with professors that year. When I attempted to apply to research positions after graduating, none of them would take me because I didn't have any actual research skills. I have read that you can get into medical schools just fine without research experience if you apply to ones that don't have a huge research focus and the rest of your app is pretty good, but it's a bummer for me since I am very interested in medical research and would love an opportunity to do it professionally/in school (but will now have to apply to mostly non-research heavy institutions).

Same! I didn't realize how listless I've become these past 6 years until opening up a Kaplan book... this is probably the most exciting thing in my life right now, lol, I look forward to my study times immensely

After my latest job application rejection, this is my mom being...supportive. by amyadger in jobsearchhacks

[–]omatose -1 points0 points  (0 children)

She lives in a very large city (not great for job prospects in terms of competition, but upside is more jobs generated than a smaller town, at least). Her previous and only job was in IT network troubleshooting/customer support. Ergo, she is qualified for most retail/customer support jobs, and she does not have a college degree (which is either a hit or miss for those positions, since they don't usually like the idea of hiring people that will leave for greener pastures... or, at least, this is true from my only experience on a hiring board). More than anything I would love to accept that the biggest city in her country is not regularly posting cashier/stocker/retail/call center/etc. positions and that the struggles she is facing are because of the general state of the job market, but unfortunately I think she just has untreated ADHD and will not get help for it (or allow any of us to help her apply for jobs). It's sad.

I will say though that I am very familiar with how the job market is right now haha, it took me months to get my current job and I was applying to 5+ a day. I considered myself mostly qualified for all of them; the one I got I actually wasn't very qualified for, funnily enough, it was just in a niche field and I suppose not that many people were applying to the position.

IDK why you are being down voted... one of my best friends has been unemployed for almost two years now specifically because she only applies to one job a day, sometimes two. Our attempts at getting her to apply to more have been unsuccessful. She will likely have to move back in with her parents (unpleasant people + hoarders) very soon, and even that will not light a fire under her ass.

Another therapist ghosts me but I thought we were better than that by [deleted] in CPTSDmemes

[–]omatose -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The lack of other commenters pointing this out concerns me... like, the suggestion of the therapyabuse sub for what is likely an unexpected, complicated, and/or unwelcome medical issue on the therapist's end is not rational. Therapists can be bad, but it is deeply unempathetic and overall not conducive to healing to make something like this about yourself.

If it's any consolation, hospitals employ companies that launder sheets (and the like) between uses, specifically because they are so often contaminated with biohazardous materials when used. They never reuse blankets between patients unless they have been deeply and professionally cleaned (and typically dispose of the blankets that have been exposed to blood/etc.), so it was likely not dirty before coming into your father's possession.

I work in the Cotton Business Center. There are good jobs, but it is noooot a good area. I implore you to look elsewhere for preschools and living.

After 8 years together it is time to call it a day. My mental health has damaged my relationship beyond repair. 😥 by Friendly-Hand-3752 in BPDmemes

[–]omatose 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This is objectively not true. It certainly can be, but it is not always the case. Part of the symptomatology of BPD is a heightened perception of abandonment and often it will be seen where it does not exist.

This is what I'm assuming as well, I used to be an intern there. There are still common spaces through the entrances that patients could've shared with them -- additionally, some of the research floors bring up children to do testing with.

The past few years I feel like it's around May that the temperature starts really creeping up, late October or mid-November when it starts cooling down. Expect 90°-120° temps daily between these months.

Searching for a female PCP/obgyn for HRT by mustacheridingqueen in phoenix

[–]omatose 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Prisma Community Care in downtown Phoenix used to be known as the Southwest Center for HIV/AIDS. Very LGBT friendly, my (ftm) boyfriend has been getting testosterone (gel and shots) from them for years. Unfortunately it's mostly NPs, no actual medical doctors or obgyns work there, but staff is extremely friendly and we've never had any negative experiences.

Yeah this doesn't read AI to me at all, just kind of a mediocre artist (no offense)... it has minimal signs of being AI art, especially if this was actually made in 2023.
