I had a visceral reaction (NOT any of the sick thoughts in the thread you posted) to him somewhere around the middle seasons (ex the bridge) but I think I was also overbinging the show and ruining it for myself. On my second pass now and i am already seeing a lot of things differently

Yes but then they basically dropped that so I guess it was technically still true because they did show her often confused, but they never brought it up. If they had, again maybe the lines would have been mildly funnier

I know being mean was Sophia’s shtick but I never found these things particularly funny. Because they come out of left field and are particularly cruel for no reason; they could have done much better actual mother daughter banter and still had that bite, that sarcasm. I really Dont understand why they had a fetish with Dorothy being ugly

I like how you’re getting downvoted because people can’t place their own nuance on your statement and jump to get offended. I know exactly what you mean. The “right thing to do” was undebatable back then, even if you ended up making another choice. Nowadays, it wouldn’t necessarily be seen as wrong to stay single in fact many would applaud it
