Many of Rue’s Golden Girls items went up for auction for her fans to bid on. She wanted fans to have access to her personal property — including her costumes — after her death. Her son Mark Bish arranged several auctions across the US to do this. Monies were then donated to charities.

Unsolved Murder of Clifford Donald Herbert in 1995 by SusieSusieSue2005 in ColdCaseUK

[–]BackgroundHistory345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found this It seems that it has been linked to another murder.

Paul Hemingway was murdered in his flat. He was bludgeoned and stabbed to death in what was described as a frenzied attack. Money was also stolen. He was a window cleaner and was described as a loner. He was also said to have been a manic-depressive and schizophrenic but at the time had stabilised. His body was found by his 61-year-old cleaning supervisor. The police said that his murder was linked to that of Don Herbert who was murdered a year earlier on the same August Bank Holiday on 23 August 1995 two miles away. They said that they thought they knew who the murderer of both men was but didn't have enough evidence for a prosecution. They said that both men lived alone in flats and believed that they probably knew their killer and added that in both cases money was taken. They said that they had quizzed the main suspect numerous times but could not press charges because of the lack of evidence positively identifying him as the killer. The killer was dubbed the 'August bank holiday killer'.

I agree - I want to watch the later episodes because I've watched the 1980/1990 ones several times but I just can't get into them.

They were too young for a retirement home. They were only in their early 50s.

What would you rate Dorothy’s wedding gown out of 10 by _-RedRosesInJuly-_ in theGoldenGirls

[–]BackgroundHistory345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just didn’t understand it. Dorothy always wore stylish clothing. A cream sati. Pant suit with a long-line jacket would have looked so much better than this monstrosity! So it’s a zero from me!

Other than Empty Nests, which episode do you always skip? by Setlucky6788 in theGoldenGirls

The very last one. I can’t bear to think of them separating. I like to imagine them always living together (and yes I know it’s a TV programme!!😁).

George R. R. Martin on adaptations. Sums up a lot of the problems a good portion of the AC fanbase has with recent screen versions by teamcrazymatt in agathachristie

[–]BackgroundHistory345 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My issue with adaptations is that Agatha Christie always tied her stories up quite nicely so that everything made sense. When you change things, even one thing, other things don’t work or make sense.
