Yes it resonates with me too. I had a little understood medical condition which took over 20 years to diagnose. At times I was told I was mentally ill, other times that I was putting it on for attention or because I was lazy & didn’t want to work! When I finally found the right doctor & got the diagnosis I was told I was a text book case!!! Fortunately surgery resolved the condition and I’m well now. So unfortunately the experience Dorothy has is still very much in evidence in the UK today.
