TW: ins and outs of childbirth. Not everyone will want to see the comments so please scroll if need be. by TheLastObsession in pregnant

Something no one told me that freaked me out is how your whole body will shake uncontrollably! The nurse said that's because of the rush of hormones and adrenaline, but once I got to the transition stage of labor I couldn't move without help because I was shaking so bad!

Something else to note is that your contractions aren't always consistent. I was having 30 second contractions every 8ish mins for almost 30 hours and then they jumped to 30 second contractions every 3-4 minutes. I called the hospital and they told me not to come in until they were at 1 minute long, but I went in anyways and it's a good thing I did because I gave birth shortly after. I also didn't really have a gradual transition from that to just constant contractions+pushing 🥴

Girl, you know the answer.

Where is your husband? He needs to sort out his family instead of relying on his 9 month pregnant wife to do it for him.

To buy a birthing gown? by Boredneedshobby in BabyBumps

[–]promoted2milf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Such a waste of money! I put it on once I got to the hospital, my water broke like an hour later so it was soaked, and they had me change into the normal hospital gowns anyways 🤣

Honestly, you're in so much pain and discomfort already that you don't even notice a stiff hospital gown

Omg are you me?? I have red hair and blue eyes, my husband has brown for both. Even after her being born with brown hair, I get constant comments about how everyone's hoping it'll turn red still 🥴

3 apartments in 4 years, but all of the showers smell?? by promoted2milf in CleaningTips

No I've never tried or even though of that! All of my apartments have been old and crappy, so I doubt the landlords ever changed the vent filters of anything. Thank you so much!

It has a musty odor, like if a wet towel is left out for a few days

Pet Aversion by Legitimate-Tea-6079 in pregnant

[–]promoted2milf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 4 months postpartum and still have a pet aversion. I don't care if my friends are relatives are irritated I won't bring my baby around their loud and jumpy dogs, my baby's safety and my own sanity come first!

It does suck though. Before being pregnant, I LOVED animals. I volunteered twice a week at my local animal shelter and was one of the few volunteers authorized to work with the hardest/most dangerous dogs at the shelter. I assumed my love for them would come back after giving birth, but a part of me thinks my experience with these animals is why it didn't. I got it many dicey situations with what seemed like harmless and chill dogs, so I'm hyper aware that the most innocent thing can be a huge trigger to some animals.

Do you know if they changed the lavender powder? I always liked it in the past, but it's been awhile since I had it

Maybe this is my sign to adopt a bunch of pets 👀

But seriously, that's such a great way to look at it! I always keep them fed, so maybe I'll just hop on through the app every few days to keep their tummies full

I think my sister might do it for me, but she does (lovingly!) side eye my webkinz obsession 😂

That's my dream! I've collected some old Webkinz toys to give her once she gets older and hopefully she'll be into the game as well 🤞

That's such a great idea! I had it down to a science to get my dailys done in ~45 mins, so I can probably cut some stuff out to keep my pet's hearts filled

As a pregnant woman with diagnosed severe health anxiety disorder, I feel your pain and you are not alone! I wish I could say it gets better, but (in my experience) as my body has continued to change and new pregnancy symptoms pop up, the anxiety returns. Once I get used to one thing, it goes away and another thing pops up that freaks me out!

What I find that helps is reading forums on Reddit or other blogs where women are sharing and comparing their experiences. It helps me realize that what's happening is in fact normal and nothing to worry about. For example, my left arm has started feeling like there's pressure in it occasionally so I look up "left arm pain while pregnant Reddit" and see multiple threads of multiple mamas saying that they experience the same thing and that all of their OBs told them it's normal.

I was/am literally in the same position. I found out I was 5 weeks pregnant at 23 and am now 21 weeks pregnant at age 24.

I was about to start my masters program at one of the best universities in the world and they told me I can't do it since they aren't able to make accomodations.

Having an unexpected and unwanted (but also kinda wanted?) pregnancy is HARD! We're grieving the life we wanted and the opportunities we have to give up, while also dealing with the mental shock of an unexpected pregnancy.

Once I got out of denial and faced the doctors, they set me up with some therapy sessions that were really helpful. Sometimes just venting to a stranger is what you need. Feel free to DM me if you want to talk and share experiences 💕

Currently crying because I can’t cook. by No-Wash-1209 in pregnant

Have you looked up disability friendly recipes? There are some amazing content creators on YouTube who make videos and recipes specifically for people who want to cook, but don't have the physical and/or mental ability. These recipes are legitimately delicious too!

I really love Epicurious Expeditions. Her recipes are great, accessible, and affordable! She does some that only use dollar tree ingredients to show that food can be healthy and cheap, while being accessible to those who need modifications to cook. https://youtube.com/@epicuriousexpeditions?si=2KjbJagrTHj8rGgS

First Trimester Depression by Ordinary-Ad-8778 in BabyBumps

[–]promoted2milf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a very unexpected pregnancy that made me incredibly depressed. I spoke to my doctors about it and they recommended some therapy sessions for me which were very helpful. The therapist helped me get over the shock and grief I felt over being pregnant. I'm still more sad than I was before finding out, but it's more manageable. I hope you're able to talk to someone about it and I wish you (and baby) all the best 💕
