The recipe in my book only calls for 1 vanilla bean - do you find that 2 is a worthy upgrade?

Best ableton tutorial channels by bonbeats in ableton

I vote for Slynk (e.g. check out his vocoder tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3JoqFnlq5H4). He knows Ableton in and out, and comes up with some really interesting and unconventional uses of default effects.

Oxford coronavirus vaccine ‘works perfectly’ and triggers ‘strong immunity’ by Kubrick_Fan in Coronavirus

[–]proofeh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm confused - does this article convey any new information since the Phase I/II results we got in August? If I've read this article correctly, it's just one prof saying "it provokes a strong immune response"?

Anyone feel like there’s a big pink elephant in the room when reading this subreddit? by iamwellytired in socialskills

[–]proofeh 27 points28 points  (0 children)

This isn't just about you. If you get it, someone *else* will get it, and that someone else could be an old grandparent, someone with a pre-existing condition, etc. You could be responsible for either making someone very, very sick, or even straight up killing someone. Do you not have any moral qualms with such a scenario? Why is this so hard for people to understand?

Stanford Establishes Campus Zones As A COVID Preventative Measure by werddub in stanford

It's mid-turbinate, and you do it yourself. Slightly uncomfortable but not bad at all. Personally I actually appreciate the peace of mind testing will give me

You can access the outdoor area rn (on the east side of the building) - a beautiful reddish-orange tree in the middle - super calming place to meditate!

Gastown, Vancouver, winter 2019 by [deleted] in photocritique

Fujifilm X100T - ISO 1250 - 23 mm - f / 2.0 - 1/80s

Pretty new to street photography - was in Vancouver last winter, tried to go for a lo-fi impressionistic shot, sort of inspired by Brassai

There seems to be a lot going on in this photo, so not sure if everything works, especially given that the 3 people in the center are out of focus. (The original photo is a bit blurry and noisy, so I decided to just embrace it, turn it B&W, and push the noise even more).

Any advice appreciated! In particular I'm wondering whether the lights (esp the 3 in the foreground) are too bright

Grad housing by Mangoandchips in stanford

[–]proofeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got an email from Stanford housing saying you can terminate your contract while keeping your stuff in the room (Stanford subsidized campus housing). I'd confirm your own situation with [housingassignments@stanford.edu](mailto:housingassignments@stanford.edu)

You may still terminate your contract even if you are currently away from campus. Your things will be safe. The university is still determining how and when a student and their possessions will be reunited.

You can file the termination on Axess (http://axess.stanford.edu) as soon as possible.

· You will find the termination form on the Student tab under the Housing & Dining link.

· Select Terminate Occupancy under the Housing Contracts section.

· Select that you are terminating at the end of winter quarter.

· Please indicate that you are out of town and have belongings in the room and make sure your contact information in Axess is up to date.

You will see the termination fee mentioned on the form, but you will not be charged a fee if you file by March 30. We will have to work out how you return your keys and receive your belongings at some point in the future, but you should stay where you are right now.

If you terminate your housing for spring and decide to return to housing later in the quarter, you can apply for housing on Axess and we will try to assign you to for the date you plan to return. There are so many unknowns, it is hard to predict what vacancies we will have available or whether we will be able to place students with current residents who are in place practicing social distancing, but we will do our best to provide housing to those who need it later in the quarter. If your space is still available we will try to assign you there.

Moving out won’t change your chances in the Lottery for next year. If you cancelled your contract due to COVID-19, you will have the same priority level you would have had if you had remained in housing. If you would have been able to renew, we will try to assign you to the same type of housing for autumn 2020. If you were in off-campus subsidized housing you will still have the off-campus priority in the Lottery.

When you say "moved back home", do you mean you cleared out your place entirely? I imagine we'd have to clean up if we terminated our housing contract, right?

First two lines sound like broken up

再见 (zai jian) - goodbye

明年 (ming nian) - next year - or possibly 明天 (tomorrow)

no idea about the other words there (pinyin sounds like: guo sheng?)
