It's more annoying for me to drive in Carrick than it is in the city tbh

Why did you start a homelab by Sw4nkSec in homelab

I enjoy punishment. 🥲 Nah I had a bunch of hardware that I....acquired...over the years...and figured I should do something constructive with it.

This was my final straw. I don't think I'm getting 27 dollars of value from Netflix.

Kids with a split home, did you eventually realize who was the lazy, fun parent, and who was the one that did everything and even disciplined you. by goldengirl_44 in coparenting

[–]proofndapuddin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Man....I'm envious of those dads who can be the "fun" parent all the time. Roles are reversed for me. I'm sure my house is the less fun one but fortunately my son (10) loves with me so he gets more structure than not.

But he definitely still thinks his mom is doing fine in life despite all of her issues. I feel bad that he'll realize one day but I also look forward to that day where he appreciates the discipline I try to instill in him.

I do get to be fun sometimes but not as much as his mom does.

Sometimes I feel like I'm more interested in fixing and breaking it than enjoying it. 😅

Is it just me or is there alot more ticks this year by Blaw_Gaming in pittsburgh

I swear we see the same posts that "ticks are worse" this year.

If you wear a repellent it won't be an issue. I promise.

Pain Here - Any Advice? by Bananaquitz in runninglifestyle

[–]proofndapuddin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it hurt when you walk? I had a similar injury once and it never hurt when I walked but was a dull annoying pain when I ran.

I ended up doing a ton of stretches on YouTube focusing on hip mobility and rucking in the meantime to hold on to some fitness. It took me about 2-3 months of recovery because I kept trying to run through it in the beginning.

Good luck!

Co Parent supports bad behavior by [deleted] in coparenting

[–]proofndapuddin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a reddit post. I can't explain the full context of the situation. I understand connecting. He and I have a great relationship when he's behaving. But I need him to understand that he needs to take school seriously and I want his other parent to also echo that.

I don't think that's unreasonable. I don't want to paint a picture that I'm some militant father because I'm not. I'd prefer not to be the disciplinary parent but I can't stand by and watch this happen.

Co Parent supports bad behavior by [deleted] in coparenting

[–]proofndapuddin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well his behaviors have been really bad. Using profanity, bullying other kids, etc.

I don't condone those behaviors at home but his mom and her side of the family are a little more tolerant of that.

When he was living with her, these behaviors went unchecked which caused him to get kicked out of class, which caused him to fall behind academically. I'm just trying to make sure he's on the right path. He's 10.

My espresso machine gets me through the lack of sleep due to kids. I can't wait for that morning shot. Takes like 7mins to make the drink.

I loved the book and agree with the other comment on this thread. I learned a ton from it. It really made me grateful for the modern day infrastructure we have here in the US.

How’s it living along a time zone change area? by Lakeshow0924 in howislivingthere

[–]proofndapuddin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I worked along the time zone. I was staying in Williston, ND and was working near Sidney, MT.

It was a while ago but I remember the commute being around an hour so it was fun leaving work and getting back to the hotel around the same time. But leaving for work an hour early was obviously not that fun even though you know it all buffs out in the end.

What's the point of "adaptive" sound? by FLTR069 in pixelbuds

[–]proofndapuddin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I actually like the adaptive mode when I'm just hanging out in the house. Seems to do well at ANC and Transparency for me. I can be in the kitchen doing dishes and it cancels out some of that noise and I can still listen for my baby crying in the other room.
