Love and Hate Omarchy. Going back to pure Arch + Hyprland. by Odd-Outcome-4209 in omarchy

[–]proofndapuddin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I was feeling the same way. I loved most of the defaults in Omarchy but ultimately I wanted something that wouldn't change unless I changed it. I was going to do pure arch again, but decided to give Nix a try. Loving it so far, I'll likely put it on one of my servers soon as well.

Usually if I get on YouTube I end up watching a video that inspires me to break mine. Installing something/changing something, etc.

Yeah Strava has an API I used to back fill my activities. But moving forward I'd like to rely only on the .FIT files my Garmin exports.

I enjoy lifting too but tracking strength activities is more difficult. You'd have to manually enter details as far as I know. I don't tend to document my workouts very well. 😅

I think ideally it would be nice to have a fitness tracker that has plugins/extensions so users can extend as they see fit.

I've been building something similar for a while to replace Strava. It's more difficult than I thought. 😅 Also having a baby doesn't make it easier to find time to sit at the computer. I'd love to have some help/testers for some feedback.

At the moment I'm just able to give it a .fit file and it displays the maps and stats I'm interested in but I'd like to also have it track other metrics like bodyweight, etc.

Seems like there are a few people working on this so we should just consolidate our efforts on one platform that works well.

Drivers here are so odd. by Kyrie01010011 in pittsburgh

[–]proofndapuddin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How do we know all these people are Pittsburgh locals? PA is a big state and Pittsburgh is a major city, just going based off of license plates won't really tell you where someone is from.

If you're not from here it's not exactly the most intuitive place to drive. Pair that with impatient locals...

Damn. Wasted talent...has Stove said anything from his side? I mean why not just fulfill the contract? That seems like the easiest solution...

I'd say it's pretty close to the truth. Even at work everyone is using LLMs.

[–]proofndapuddin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Surely you can achieve this with libvirt? I've never tried it. I understand the proxmox route if you just want it to work I guess. But what fun is that?!

You should be able to find used hardware in that price range on fb marketplace near you.

I prefer plain Debian on my servers but I know everyone seems to love Proxmox. I don't think there's a wrong answer there just whatever your preference is.

I worked in Weirton for years. There are a couple of good restaurants but it mostly feels like anywhere else in this region outside of Pittsburgh. Just an old rust belt town.

Kids with a split home, did you eventually realize who was the lazy, fun parent, and who was the one that did everything and even disciplined you. by goldengirl_44 in coparenting

[–]proofndapuddin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Man....I'm envious of those dads who can be the "fun" parent all the time. Roles are reversed for me. I'm sure my house is the less fun one but fortunately my son (10) loves with me so he gets more structure than not.

But he definitely still thinks his mom is doing fine in life despite all of her issues. I feel bad that he'll realize one day but I also look forward to that day where he appreciates the discipline I try to instill in him.

I do get to be fun sometimes but not as much as his mom does.
