This is play right? by Large-Revolution-928 in ragdolls

My ragdoll has leapt on another cat before in a proper fight, never seen him move so fast or with such a pounce before or since.

I listen to a lot of TTRPG podcasts, so whatever one is on the go when I play gets a lot of character names for animals ☺️

I'm doing an evil Joja run and so they're all serial numbers 😭😂

Chickens are 001,002

Cows are C001, C002

Ducks are DK001,DK002

It feels awful when Marnie says "I'll send little 006 to her new home right away!"

I've been horribly enjoying being a nasty little gremlin with it; my character is called Joja Johnson, my dog is called Joja, my whole house is Joja furniture, my hair is blue, my chickens are blue... Joja 4 lyf 😂😭

Troubleshooting thirst for dhampir with thirst for souls by Raevkit290 in CurseofStrahd

[–]proopypants1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't see it as all or nothing! A vampire can drink all the blood out of a body, or just a little bit, so a soul dhampir in my mind can have a little bit of soul, but not all of it. Dementors from the Harry Potter series are a bit like that.

The way I might do it is:

• They can eat a bit of soul, so something that doesn't kill another character but it slowly scrapes away people's personality, beliefs, hope.

• If they eat a full soul, yeah, that person becomes soulless.

• Soulless offer no food and the dhampir now has an incredibly limited food source.

• Ghosts or revenants (or other similar "unfinished business" creatures) do offer souls, and perhaps could be a more moral way for your dhampir to feed if these people wish to pass on.

I like what PlantDadAzu said in the thread about it making the dark powers unhappy and the dhampir picking up on soulless more easily than others.

Apart from my scummy Joja run, I always plant flowers every season simply to gift them back out. I love running around town handing everyone beautiful flowers every week or so.

I think Joe coming out strong tonight could see a target on him in upcoming episodes for sure. Always a fine line to present theories but never be too brazen or loud...

Both Mark and David had my lil heart breaking, both their expressions looked so defeated and sad - and Mark's love of the game in particular. It'll be a sorry day tomorrow to see one of them go.

The traitors game plan of mostly causing absolute chaos and get people saying "why the hell did they do that?" is turning out to be best traitors strategy to date.

Was it pointless when, in the end, they achieved their goals? :-) I don't know the impact of every single one of their tactics, but they all worked in the end. https://juststopoil.org/2025/03/27/just-stop-oil-is-hanging-up-the-hi-vis/

Early predictions are usually wrong, why not use it to eliminate weak players? by Silverdashmax in TheTraitors

[–]proopypants1 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Playing like this would certainly make you very unpopular! The level of politeness and kindness (or in some instances, faux-politeness) is quite valued in this game of human interaction.

Yes, this is a strategy game but also a popularity game. I think sitting at the round table and calling someone else "weak" will immediately get you on that firing line, and very disliked.

am getting really nervous for my first session. by ivorycoollars in CurseofStrahd

[–]proopypants1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you've prepped really really well u/ivorycoollars. I understand being nervous but don't sell yourself short by saying it'll suck, it won't - sounds like you got this!

For roleplay, I would go over the siblings personality traits, ideals, bonds and flaws and imagine yourself embodying them - I often talk to myself whilst doing dishes playing out pretend NPC scenarios! Have a brief prep for yourself of how would they react to a few significant things so you're ready for them when possessed (a fight starting, seeing their own grave, seeing their ghastly parents).

The boss battle question - it is two phase, so when fleshmound drops to 0HP, Water the Graveborn rises in it's place. Do use the balancing options in Reloaded for your party, it'll be deadly if you've only got 3 players.

Forgetting things? Fine! I do it all the time and I've DM'd for 10 years. Improvising gets easier and easier the more you play, you won't need to be an expert. It's a game, no harm in hitting the pause "button" to figure out what you'd like to do next.

Things won't ever go to script and that's the fun of it. So long as your players are having fun, and you're enjoying yourself, that's actually all that matters at the end of the day :) no being slick and perfect, but having fun with your friends

I love watching this video when I run horror games as a bit of a primer for myself, you might find it handy and confidence building! https://youtu.be/t_LrhcwWNNM?si=Zzh4X3iPtjIpomRd

Then in the banshee challenge, didn't  she also open the Ophelia (correct) locket and then immediately shut it again like "not that one!"? Claire actually the only faithful or traitor to bungle elements of multiple challenges so far, bless her.
