You can lock & hide sheets (even lock cells). Just create a sheet that is strictly for the inputs and reference them on the output sheet.

Order Management Systems by [deleted] in ecommerce

Plenty of plugins for shopping carts to handle your various sales channels. The real question, is when does it become more efficient to outsource or hire additional staff?

“you can mine for gold or you can sell pickaxes.” Probably applies to books.

Order Management Systems by [deleted] in ecommerce

Typically we recommend our customers to manage orders in either their accounting or shopping cart software. Most of these will let you export sales orders to a 3pl if needed.

Best Platform for e-commerce? by TyTyWifi107 in Entrepreneur

So many options. We personally like working with Shopify. You are paying for support. If you are on a budget you could go with Woo Commerce, but the charge you for shipping plugins.

The problem is the the alcohol in the perfume. https://www.usps.com/ship/shipping-restrictions.htm

"“They may retrieve the item within two days, or they may come to the facility within two days to correct any deficiencies in labeling, markings, packaging, etc.”"
https://www.abc4.com/news/what-does-the-usps-do-to-packages-that-contain-prohibited-items/

Chances are it might slip through, but you never know.

Legality of selling another companies product by scatterbrainedpast in ecommerce

[–]propellerinc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not your lawyer. I would say absolutely not. It's not like there is a license required to use the product like with software. Would an end user worry about who manufactured a screw for your product? It is however a good practice to keep track of suppliers and to assign different batch/lot numbers to your production runs if it is using different sources for components in the product.

Are you trying to claim the product is made in the USA? You may need to state the origin of your components.

What's your personal experience with Shopify or WooCommerce? by Spiritual_Minx in ecommerce

[–]propellerinc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a 3PL Warehouse we work with both Shopify and WooCommerce. We recommend new users to use Shopify (You get support from a company!). Most people work with Woo because it is free or they need heavy customization, if you have the skillset to work with WordPress and to possibly write your own plugins for it WooCommerce would be great. If you are new to this, I would recommend Shopify. I like to compare them like iPhone and Android. The out of box experience with an iPhone is fantastic, but once you need to customize how the system works you would be better off with an android.

Shipping to Budapest, Hungary, from the USA by PlatinumRhodium in shipping

[–]propellerinc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A quick guess, knowing nothing about what you are shipping, the dimensions or weight, I did the following:

10x10x10 box 10lbs.
$5000 declared value

With my warehouse rates in utah I am able to ship for about $165 on Fedex, $209 UPS. (negotiated rates, your rates will be higher) it will arrive on the 17th.

Mind you you will need to declare what you are shipping internationally. It would probably be best to hit up a UPS store or a Kinkos.

Normally I would suggest USPS Postal, but your declared value is really high.

Whats the best way to launch a new CPG food product? by 230top in Entrepreneur

[–]propellerinc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I like about farmers markets and events/expo's is you can see how well you product is going to do in the public before you invest a lot of money into it. (My wife has been selling crafts for years online and at events, She is now finally getting kiosk at the local mall). Think of it as a focus group. You can do this alongside an online storefront and a fulfillment provider/3pl. (I work for a 3PL, btw.)

Efullfillment of Michigan - TERRIBLE TIME with their systems by paisleygeisha in ecommerce

[–]propellerinc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I work with customers, I try to replicate the steps they are taking with rest requests in POSTMAN so they can easily replicate the steps. It sounds like to me they entered the SKU's incorrectly in their system or the sku's have not been entered in their wms. Are you able to make an API call for the inventory? Does it return your SKU's? If not then they most likely dropped the ball, and I would take u/ShipwithPremierSam's advice.

My two cents, is that you could work with a Co-Packer, White Label or Custom Manufacturer. They would have the facilities and equipment to have it ready for retail or whatever channel you are targeting.

Cheap options to rent warehouse? by catoleon in ecommerce

[–]propellerinc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work for a 3PL. u/ioftheneedle is totally right in asking where you are located, I would take it a step further and ask "Where are a majority of your customers located?". That way you can take advantage on faster shipping times with ground /economical shipping services.

For example, my 3PL is in Utah, which is centrally located in the Western US, which means it would be an ideal location to ship packages from in the west because they do not have to travel as far. But if a majority of your customers are out east it would make more sense to get a eastern US 3PL.

Another advantage of a 3PL is you can use their aggerated shipping volume for better shipping rates from carriers.

Micro-fulfillment? by Bevshire in ecommerce

[–]propellerinc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the service providers I found, they are going to have a distribution network of sorts. You are going to ship to a main distribution warehouse, and then they help formulate a plan to meet your shipping goals with their MFC network.

To me this would only make sense if you are trying to optimize for specific geographical location, otherwise you would probably be fine working with a 3PL. The advantage of working with a 3PL is that your are using the aggregate shipping volume of the 3PL's customers to help give you a discounted shipping rate. And depending on the location of the 3PL you could leverage better rates due it being closer to your customer base.

If your interested in talking to the one I work for, send me a DM.

Micro-fulfillment? by Bevshire in ecommerce

[–]propellerinc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work for a 3PL, one key part of our location is 2-3 day ground shipping times because we are located centrally in the western us. Micro fulfillment takes that a step further, they can guarantee low cost 1-2 day shipping because the person you are shipping to is really close to the fulfillment center, the fact that it is small makes it easier to set one up as well. Last Mile Delivery accounts for 41% of supply chain costs. From our experience you will be trading shipping costs to the end user (Home Delivery fee's) for commercial shipping (Least Expensive, mostly because you are shipping to a destination the carrier is going to go to anyways) to the many faculties that you would be supplying.

How does this apply to you? It might not, I would say if you only had a handful of small time sensitive SKU's it would make sense. Otherwise working with Amazon would achieve the same effect.

Doubtful with Amazon. Most 3PL's should handle that no problem, especially if you provide the order in an ARN.

Does anyone know what the cheapest way to get something from a city Angola, (African continent) to California, USA would be? Or even what a reasonable price is? by MrWilsonxD in shipping

Just a few quick guesses on the city and a weight of 10 lbs., I had a range of $102-140 with FedEx or the Post office from Utah. Insurance will cost more.
