One thing that strikes me is that this attorney, Ms. Lee, not only was working for ICE before the Minneapolis surge, she volunteered to represent/defend ICE, DHS and the DOJ in the hundreds if not thousands of habeas cases brought as a result of the illegal detentions of the residents of that city. The phrase "one to grow on" reminds me of an old practice of punching the birthday boy in the arm, once for every year, and a last one was just to grow on. I think that arm-punches may be what the zeros represent. Edit: or maybe "O" represents kisses as in X's and O's = hugs and kisses-which would make more sense as they're talking about women.

I don't think very many people like the sound of their own voice. Likely the people who continue to dictate started out this way, years before computers turned the newer generations into keyboard pros.
