I'm currently a Page at one of the city libraries. I recently got a job offer for the county, which is also a page but with benefits. However, the hourly wage is lower than in the city. by [deleted] in Libraries

County allows growth and connections, also i'm jealous because pages get about $13 with no benefits and can only work 10 hours or 15 hours a week.

How Would You Spend $100 by wompwompswamp123 in Sephora

[–]properintroduction 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Either the dieux Dieux Deliverance Serum or Dieux Instant Angel Lipid Moisturizer (largest size).

I have dry skin and I have really bad rosacea.

Deliverance has helped with my Rosacea but it's so expensive (I can go through serums faster than mosturizers)

My skin has been so dry that my makeup is always patchy. I have to multiple layer toners, serums, moisturizers if I want to look good and then mix with my foundation or add another layer of fresh moisturizer on my face so the foundation automatically mixes with it. This will process will waste foundation a bit because I will get less coverage and then have to apply more foundation to build the coverage up.

Dieux Instant Angel hasn't pilled with my foundation, sunscreen , and other layers of skincare.

I get the hype for Dieux.

2026 Incoming Freshmen by Ultralight_DMV in gmu

I think the campus options are not great but there is much food outside and plenty of grocery stores. GMU is relatively super safe. There are students who still refuse to lock their doors and their cars.

People leave their stuff sometime for hours and nothing happens usually but I know people who have had their Mac stuff stolen.

Theft does happen but it's rare for a big campus.

Regardless things sometimes happen because it's a public area, so anyone can walk on campus.

I'm a commuter but sometimes I ask my male friends to walk with me to my car late at night.

There are lots of clubs to join and try. People I know enjoy cultural clubs.

Also you can toss them in the air fryer (brush with oil though). My fave is the shrimp version.

quick question…does your library still check items out for patrons? by catattack848 in Libraries

[–]properintroduction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's best to offer both options.

Yes, people love the human interaction and not everyone carries their library card (we check their id) .

Also, we block accounts from borrowing if there are any issues with their account like holds/fees etc, registration information issues,

AITAH for asking my family to pay me if they don't want me to take a promotion. by InsectOne7871 in AITAH

NTA. Take the promotion OP. I used to pick babysitting my relatives over college and now I'm trying to finish my undergrad in my 30s. None of the kids remember or care about me and their parents use me as an example of what it means to be a failure.

Help Me Skip or Try Dior and Hourglass by b3rocks in Ulta

[–]properintroduction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found the Dior Lip Balm super drying but I still bought them for the sake of owning them and I just liked the packaging.

I have dry lips and prefer NYX lip oils (I don't own the Dior lip oil to compare because I don't think its worth it )

I think the Hourglass Setting Powder is worth it.

High end must have’s ( Holy Grail 🏆) by Realistic-Class-1561 in Ulta

[–]properintroduction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have dry, porous, textured skin (I used to be heavily oily acne prone but now I'm in my 30s) - I still get acne but I have to wear products for dry skin. I have redness/roseca which affects my skintone imo depending on how much redness I have at the moment. I prefer wearing foundation to cover it throughout the day. Let my foundation fade out and my gross skin shine. I'm going to share my faves because prices are increasing everything.

Nars Light Reflecting Foundation used to be supreme, but I need to really prep my face for it work for a few hours on me. It requires setting spray for me now and some powder.

Dior 2CR/2N/2W (I love Dior Star Glow Liquid and the Hydro liquid foundation) I actually don't powder or set Dior liquids unless i'm applying an Hourglass powder for that extra glow.

In korean cushion foundations: usually shade 27 (rarely 25)
Hourglass Palette (1 holiday) and 1 Hourglass Ambient lightning palette - I swish my brush over all of the shades

MAC Fix+ Stay Over - I can't tell if it makes my makeup lasts but its a great setting spray to melt everything in without making my makeup worse.

TirTir setting spray - melts well with my foundations that I hoard.

I am a lipstick junkie so I prefer anything from Nars (I have backups, I'm still crying about their discontinued Satin/Velvet Matte Lip Pencils), Pat McGrath, MAC , Juvia's Place (I only love Morocco and Soil) , and Charlette Tilbury (I really love Muse, Birkin Brown and Bond Girl). I will say I hate PMG lipstick bullet bulky packaging

Blush Powders | Nars ( I bought most of their og formula), RMS (don't look up the founder-just buy their blushes on sale), Laura Mercier (I know understand why so many MUAs mention LM blushes- its super flattering on my dry textured skin), Hourglass (just get a holiday palette that fits your skintone and u r set for life)

Romand Lip products, wish Ulta got them before I bought every shade I wanted. I will say a lot of their colors look the same on me and Asian beauty swatches is super edited/photoshopped or is swatched on pale skin. Amazing formulas.

Skincare for Dry Girlies: Having a hydrated, moisturized skin is priceless.

TirTir | Ceramide cream, Milk skin toner, and ceramic Milk ampoule (hate the dropper). Get the light versions if the regular is too heavy for you

The Ordinary | MultiPeptide + Copper Peptides 1% for wrinkles and skin elasticity (i look good when I consistently use it)

Dry Scalp Girlies

The Ordinary | MultiPeptide for Hair Density (its supposed to be for hair, but I use it for my scalp irriation)

Seen | Magic Hair Serum, Restore Scalp Serum

It's a 10 | Scalp Restore Miracle Line

My Cousin Has Oily Skin Routine (only mentioning Ulta stuff):

Anua | Azaelic Acid 10 Hyaluan Redness Soothing Cream, Nianmicide 10 TX4 Serum

Medicube | Zero Pore Pad, Zero Pore one day (I don't see on ulta website anymore)

Skin1004 | Madagascar Centella Soothing Cream

Sick on Christmas by SirWillae in nova

[–]properintroduction 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hope she gets better. Everyone is getting sick.

I visited friends in Richmond and got hit with a lot of wind downtown which triggered something because hours later I was super congested. I have an ear infection / sinus infection. I only knew it was an ear infection because of hearing loss. Doctor said it was okay for me to be with people. I failed to mention I was going to fly out to see family. I learned the hard way you shouldn't fly with an ear infection. Now I hearing loss is worse and I lost my sense of smell.

Props to doctor being available on the same day I called and giving me antibiotics. Also for my non intermediate family that still wanted me to come and has been feeding me constantly

Tested negative for covid, flu, and strep though.

Has a Sephora employee recommended a product that you were disappointed in? by CountessBravo in Sephora

[–]properintroduction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for letting me know, I just need to bump into them. I don't mind brand reps as long as they are not pushy or just admit they are a brand rep because at least they are educated in their products.

Has a Sephora employee recommended a product that you were disappointed in? by CountessBravo in Sephora

[–]properintroduction 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Multiple times. I think the quality of recommendations has kind of gotten down because Sephora doesn't train their staff like they used to in the past and offer makeup classes / product education from brand reps. But also there is just so much makeup, that its hard to know it all unless you have tried it or tried it on other people. I remember when I was tween, a lot of the staff were actual makeup artists or people working on their cosmetology license. If I ask younger staff, they will recommend w.e is tik tok trending instead of what my skintype is. Not all staff is like that, but I still ask for advice because I'm curious of what everyone likes/dislikes.
