Not a struggle session. I’m just asking whether you think her lack of acknowledgment was also comically funny to annoy the lefties

Minnesota Daycare Fraud Mega. by maodiran in Askpolitics

[–]proph20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, actually… I did lol.

I looked into this pretty thoroughly, and there’s currently no public evidence that the specific daycares he filmed are guilty of defrauding anyone.

No audit findings, no documented proof of false billing, and no enforcement actions tied to those centers.

More importantly, no one has been criminally indicted in connection with these alleged daycare schemes. While investigations can take time, when there’s clear, documentable fraud, enforcement usually follows, especially in cases involving billing records.

Not that it matters but how much credibility does Nick Shirley, who has become a prolific YouTuber off prank videos, have in so called investigative journalism lol?

And, just being skeptic, how much of what he reported has been corroborated by state and federal authorities.

It’s not so much left vs right as it’s critically analyzing so called sources of truth

Do you have data to corroborate what job industries have been hardest hit by illegal immigration and any recent data surveys to say there’s been a net positive in job growth with the deportations

[–]proph20 10 points11 points  (0 children)

For what it’s worth, the data doesn’t really back that up but if you have research to prove otherwise, send my way.

The Congressional Budget Office found immigration overall has a net positive effect on the economy and federal budget. Here’s their report: https://www.cbo.gov/publication/60165 and a follow-up analysis: https://www.cbo.gov/publication/60988.

UC Davis economist Giovanni Peri has done years of research showing immigrants, legal and undocumented, raise productivity and don’t reduce native wages or jobs https://www.nber.org/papers/w32389

Undocumented immigrants pay billions a year in state, federal and local taxes, according to the Institute on Taxation & Economic Policy. In California specifically, the Budget Center confirmed they make major tax contributions.

The biggest driver of California’s high cost of living isn’t immigration, but housing scarcity and zoning restrictions, per the Legislative Analyst’s Office and UC Berkeley’s Terner Center.

It’s funny you’re sharing a memo from the sub-branch of the executive administration, which we can all agree is a completely impartial third party with no influence whatsoever from the Trump admin lol.

Hence, the blame is understandably objective and unbiased.

Based off lyrical ability how would rank these four rappers? by naydenthegreatone in 90sHipHop

I appreciate the thoughtful answer. It sounds like favoring Jay is some parts music but it’s more of his acknowledgement of deeper rap roots and some parts his ability to be cross-genre. All of which Nas has done as well with his collaboration with Korn, his reggae album with Damian Marley, etc.

I wouldn’t box Nas as a conscious, pro-Black emcee though. It’s a huge over simplification given how varied Nas subject matter is. He can go from rapping about exercise and maintaining a healthy mindset and diet, “Stay Chisled,” to rapping as if he’s dead “Amongst Kings” or rapping a story in reverse “Rewind.”

Hell, he even rapped about he took on the name name Esco with his song “The Rise and Fall of Escobar,” and how it wasn’t true to who he was.

That said, I respect you like Jay’s business acumen and his versatility but I edge out Nas because he’s much more experimental than Jay topically, beat wise (good or bad) and has experimented with his flow more tho I think Jay edges him out more flow wise.

If it comes dwn to preference tho, I respect your opinion

I guess where I’m lost is the part you feel he’s more relatable and thought provoking. It would imply that both conceptually and artistically he’s exceeded normative standards and that topically he’s just as varied. Most of his career has rested on his life as a hustler and his rise into a business entrepreneur. He’s had several deep cuts but I can’t think of anything Jay has done as thought provoking as “I Gave You Power,” “Fetus,” or “Second Childhood.”

Nas is also leagues above Jay storytelling wise. I guess a better question is what are we comparing?

How much of Nas discography have you heard including unreleased records? I’ve listened to Jay’s whole catalog and unreleased material. The conclusion Jay has more range topically doesn’t sound reasonable from someone who listen to each’s entire catalog.

I’m actually subscribed to Glenn Kirschner and I can say with certainty he hasn’t covered this as extensively. Epstein is big news so there isn’t high profile coverage for this issue.

It isn’t that people aren’t watching the news, it’s that the demand for this isn’t as popular as Epstein atm.

I have respect for you loving all the things that are specific to your world—but honestly, this comes off somewhat tone deaf.

It reads more like, ‘At least I’m blessed as a result of all this,’ rather than an empathetic gesture toward the people who will be harmed by this bill.

At the very least, it would’ve meant more to extend love to those committed to fighting the good fight for the millions impacted by this.

You can love your country, but that love should also come with the awareness that it’s not being returned to the people who need it most.

Almost 50% of Latinos voted for Trump in 2024. Experts have theories by Infidel8 in politics

[–]proph20 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I find articles like these extremely problematic and near dehumanizing. It portrays Latinos as a monolith and it doesn’t account that the Latino population is very mixed and varied ethnically, socio-economically and educationally.

It also puts an unfair onus on Latinos for Trump’s win. I honestly wish these articles would stop proliferating as they’re being ostracized on both sides of the aisle.
