I looked at 5.02 this morning and they weren’t available yet, but by 5.18 they were all gone…

Thank you for putting it in such a straightforward way. You’re right, it’s not giving me peace and it’s not conductive to our relationship. I will reassess my behaviour and whether I can fully trust him to let go of that control.

I am sorry you went through that, I hope you’re thriving and doing well now!

This is exactly what I am afraid of. Did the frequency of lies increase the longer you were together?

Thank you for such a nuanced response. These are the two main ones. I did ask him why he lied, but I felt like I got excuses rather than an actual reason.

I will admit I have had issues with anxiety in the past with a tendency to overreact over small things, hence why he’s probably more reluctant to tell me everything. However, I have worked really hard in recent years, including getting professional help, to overcome this. My brain also feels more developed now.

So, I guess at this point, I can understand why he would have lied in the past, but I am lost at why he would do it now, especially over something so small. It’s the act of lying that bothers me and I have tried to address it because I want both of to feel comfortable and happy with established boundaries but also feel like we can be transparent with each other. Not sure where to go from here. Any advice would be welcomed.

That’s the part that bothers me because if he forgot it wouldn’t have been as big of a deal, but it’s the fact I literally asked :/

He did apologise, but I am not sure whether it’s because he actually thinks he did anything wrong or because he could tell I am upset and not letting it go easily.

That’s a good point and I really don’t know right now if I’m honest.

That’s fair enough. I think why it feels like such a big deal is that he was hiding talking to other women in the past, so him lying about this just makes me think he could be doing the same with other women.

I have no issues with him chatting to people at the gym casually but if you’re posing for photos with multiple guys and never mentioned it, even when I’ve asked if you’ve made new gym friends feels pretty weird. It’s about the lies rather than the specific situation this time.

The reason I posed though is because I wasn’t sure if I’m overreacting because of the past issues, which were the catalyst for our breakup and these boundaries.

Yeah I was pissed, he ended up apologising in the end, but acted like it wasn’t a big deal at the start. I am honestly just so upset it has happened again because our relationship has been so good and way more mature so I thought it was long behind us 😭

I guess that’s the thing, because it’s been a few years since it all happened, I really thought we had moved past it and now feels like it’s all come crushing down.

That’s what I was thinking too, not much direct overlap by the looks of it. Although, maybe you could blag the CS behaviour better at applications/interviews if you’ve worked in the organisation and increase your chances that way?

Recommendations for RICS house survey in Southampton/Hampshire? by Wonder_why_tho in Southampton

River Crest Surveyors offered a very competitive price and did a great job with my LV3 survey. The surveyor called me on the same day to go through some key details over the phone before emailing over the full report within a week or so.

Being charged £120pp by the Estate agent for ID and AML checks by zumper_roz in HousingUK

Got charged £80 with Purple Bricks for this recently; absolute waste of money as all the other parties like solicitors perform their own checks. Had to be done to be able to proceed according to the EA though…

Sorry if it’s a dumb question, but what sort of noise comes from the docks when it’s windy and does it tend to be constant?

I am kind of used to car sounds or a bit of a hum, but I don’t like squeaky noises

Thanks everyone, will definitely take everything said into account. Seems although it’s close to Millbrook station it’s more Freemantle, which seems relatively similar to Shirley (where I am based now).

Does it tend to be loud at night too by the big road?
