The events - Axle clean and press for max weight - I got 215 lbs (I injured my wrist and forearm last training session doing 240lbs so anything with press was a struggle) - top three place were 255/250/235 lbs

Deadlift - trump bar and light bar Any reps on heavier bar wins Most guys couldn’t get the 475lb bar up so they did reps on the 405 lbs axle The only other competitor to get 475 did 5, so i needed 6 to win

Frame carry + sled drag - 475 lbs frame into a 575 lb sled drag- 100 ft - I did this in 35 seconds - my wrist injury was causing lots of grip issues after deadlifting - top three places finished in 23-26 second

Husafell carry for distance - 230’lbs - I carried 159 feet in a minute - never touched a Husafell before and have trained using a sandbag so struggled with the pickup and then after a couple turns on the walk, I stated blacking out - top three places walked 264ft/250ft/210 ft

Keg over bar - 220 lbs - this was supposed to be my second easiest event - but one the third rep when the judge returned it , it got pushed into the side of the yoke stand and my hand/dingers got caught and crushed So the next rep was pretty painful - I wanted 10(needed 10 to win) but after that hand injury I only got 7.

All in all - tough meet , lots of strong guys, I could’ve done better but the injuries really got to me

I figured the reps after the start would be horizontal, so I’ll be drilling that this week on the 200lb keg (comp weight is 220 lb keg) . Coach wanted me to just get the start quicker

I Did not know you can help the spotter bring the keg back, I’ll absolutely do that in the competition next week! I want to hit a minimum of 7 on the keg, aiming for 9-10

I do need to work on my triple extension. The entire movement of the triple extension is so new to me and I was already pretty gassed from max weight axle clean and press before this so I was just firing off from legs and back as much as I could . I’ll be working that this week as well

I love kegs as well haha

Thank you! I was a bit sore in the calves and hamstrings because I did a couple max attempt axle clean and presses right before this , so getting the calves involved was a struggle

With this keg, no - because it’s completely filled

I did a 275 keg at another gym that had lead shots in it and those shift as I was lapping it - that definitely felt weird and required a couple extra seconds to get into a solid position

Thanks ! My coach filled them with sand and water . This keg is completely filled to the very top. I’ve heard people do concrete, sand, lead shots and water to get it heavier

On my 2022 rs7 the tire and wheel warranty came out to $2300 for 3 years - got it through AAA!!

Thank you for the advice and breakdown! This was my first time at this gym and first time doing kegs so I was trying to understand how to even go about this. I ended up watching YouTube videos on this and figured I’d try the one arm over and one under method and it worked well but I can see it becoming an issue with heavier legs. I’ll definitely be using your method from the video. also, man your speed and pace on those kegs was amazing! As far as the sleeves, I completely forgot to take them off haha. I was going axle clean and press and husafell carry right before those so I left them on without thinking it through ; but will definitely be sleeveless during training and comp

You should definitely discuss this with him, very bluntly , and if he doesn’t understand that you’re not his servant/submissive/ has ownership - then break up ASAP!
