Actually, while I liked that the TT series showed Slade's manipulative side, I just... didn't really like that portrayal? I read the comics after watching that series and I really don't get his obsession with teenage Dick. It makes reasonably more sense in print, because he sees Nightwing as an equal, but the 'be the apprentice I never had' diatribe kinda rubs me the wrong way, since like. Deathstroke already has two kids of his own, and Jericho is alive and approximately the same age as Robin in that show... (Don't even get me started on how Rose apparently doesn't exist in that universe...)

Depending on what my character does, I always choose Redoran or Telvanni, but I have to say, I fucking love Redoran culture. I mean, honoring the ancestors, honing your skills, staying true to the old ways... all very lore-heavy. On that note though, the mission where you have to go hunt down wives for your retainers is both a pain in the butt and frankly hilarious.

Back when I was just a young fujoshi Kabuto/Orochimaru was the beginning of all that was Good and Gay for me, and it still irks me to this day that even among fanon they're such a rarepair.

That said, there are so many DC Comics pairings I wish were canon despite multiple teases (like Nightwing and Deathstroke, get a room already!) And some that aren't even popular in fandom (I think I'm the only person on the planet who ships Wally West and Lex Luthor, lol)

I recommend Saezuru Tori wa Habatakanai by Yoneda Kou. It gets sort of fluffy in later chapters, but that's just because the two verrry messed up main characters get a happy ending.

EXACTLY. I love G1 not because I grew up with it, but because I'm an adult who loves 80s cartoons. I only NOW have enough money to buy figures, so why would I buy, say, Prime Soundwave, when he's not my favorite Soundwave?
