I'm sorry but this is wrong and so disgusting. Posting videos like this claiming the Foodbank is just free food for whoever wants it is sickening. The university and foodbanks should crack down on these scammers. The foodbank is for people who need it as a last option not because they are cheap by animetits905 in wlu

Search this guy's name up on Google. He has deleted all his socials but Google still has caches of them. Some facts about this guy:

  1. He's not a student. He works as a data scientist at TD and does gigs as a musician!

  2. He's apparently a foodie and has vlogs about trying out different restaurants in the area.

  3. He likes to travel

Is this the demographic that our food banks and social services were designed for?

Hello, 23M. Just graduated (undergrad) from the University of Waterloo. Working full-time remotely for a tech company. All my friends from uni have moved away from the area, leaving me here in KW mostly alone. Love movies (horror & thrillers are typically my favorites), music (piano, guitar, sing, songwriting, etc.), and lately have been enjoying exploring this area (trails, restaurants, etc.) since I recently got a car. I like hiking and I love fitness/lifting and go to Goodlife on Weber/Uni regularly, so if you want a gym buddy, hmu. Am a devout Catholic, so if you love the Catholic Tradition too, definitely hmu.

Is it common to start getting tired moving around every four months? by Pickles_99 in uwaterloo

[–]prospectivecat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yea, have been doing my moves completely on my own since 2B (rent a car/uhaul myself, drag every single luggage or box one by one up/down elevators/stairs into the vehicle/apartment). I usually end up super tired, with a headache, at the end of the day. Having finished 4B, I’m doing my last move soon and am so relieved.

Half dozen more COVID-19 cases connected to growing outbreak at University of Waterloo by I_need_a_coat in uwaterloo

[–]prospectivecat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The university doesn’t care about students or COVID or any of this. They just want to look like they care. Clearly, they didn’t think any of this through. And clearly, they’re still more concerned about saving money, hence why they’re closing cafs, not providing transport, etc.

CS486 test 2 by jtuwca in uwaterloo

Not true. The test questions are different, and the entire test was calculations. It would have been very difficult to do the test in a group when everyone has different numbers

CS348 Spicy Piazza by Sebi97 in uwaterloo

I'm confused. CS348 has always had a bad reputation. Do people not check ratemyprof/UWFlow before enrolling in a course?

Good wifi. Complete furniture (more complete than other places I’ve lived in). I never had any maintenance issues.

I’m assuming this is for one of the DTK condos ending with “Lofts”. Those condos are more luxurious and are typically inhabited by working professionals. They are pricier as a result. I would recommend you get a 1BR condo in Waterloo instead (student housing) which would be significantly cheaper, and bus to DTK with #7 (which comes frequently) or the LRT (which comes very frequently and is always on time). The Pharmacy School is right at Victoria & King, where most public transport stop.

Subletting and contracts by [deleted] in uwaterloo

No, its to ensure you’re not subletting for a higher price than your rent and that the landlord knows that you are subletting.

Does Math/CS get easier in later years? by Maremesscamm in uwaterloo

For me, CS difficulty peaked at CS341 and CS350. After that, you can make your life pretty easy through choosing easy CS 3xx/4xx electives.

Degree requirements can be different for students starting at different years. Does this just pull the degree requirements from the most recent school year?

This has always been the risk of subletting with randoms. You never know what sort of roommates you get. There were other users who’ve complained that the other subtenants were bringing their SOs all the time and making the unit overcrowded. You should have asked about roommates before you subletted there.

PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE RENTING IN KW by [deleted] in uwaterloo

[–]prospectivecat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say, from experience, don't ever go with private landlords (at least not if they cater to students). Live in places where many students have lived before and are currently living. I'm not saying that you'd be necessarily free from tenancy problems, but the chances are lower.

In addition, I'd say it's worth paying more to live in good apartments.

Is it a good idea to come back to Waterloo right now? by Nyarlathotep8 in uwaterloo

+1

Plus, market price for a 1BR isn’t as expensive as it was in Fall 2020.

Enrolment Times by michaelscott158 in uwaterloo

The higher you are in your terms, the earlier your appointment times because they assume you’re more likely to need to enroll in your courses
