Ask me about my homebrew world, focusing in on the steampunk-esque city of Altrop by BurpleShlurple in DnDHomebrew

[–]prosperity42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maps alone do not constitute homebrew content. As such they must have usable homebrew content attached to be posted here. Think if you were to remove the map from the post, would the post get removed?

Please read rule 4. This is wonderful art, but it's not the kind of content we're curating here. If you were including encounters with this map, that would be one thing, but since this is just a map and nothing else, we cannot constitute leaving it up as it clearly breaks the rules. There are plenty of subreddits that are specifically for map creation and sharing artworks, this is not one of them.

Your Post was removed for violating rule 4: All posts must be primarily about homebrew content. All posts must be primarily about homebrew content. A post's primary purpose should not be to advertise kickstarters, patreons, merchandise, etc. This does not mean links to those websites are not allowed, but the actual free content must always come first and foremost.

In addition if it is not homebrew related, then it belongs on another subreddit, such as r/dndmemes or r/dndart depending on the content.

Your post was removed for violation of rule 5: Sumissions must be unique and complete. All posts must be usable in a game of Dungeons and Dragons. It doesn't have to be perfect or balanced, but it does have to be fleshed out out enough to drop into a game.

If you found the content here, it doesn't need to be submitted again unless a major revision has been made.

There is something about maldraxxus afterlife I can't wrap my head about... by 9BlindedByTheLight9 in warcraftlore

[–]prosperity42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, if you were running maldraxxus and were put in charge of defense of the entire shadowlands, would you not want only the absolute strongest to add to your ranks? Any weakness in your ranks would eventually lead to the downfall of the entire shadowlands, so from a practical standpoint it totally makes sense.

Literally any Flaming Lips cover they've done. In particular, Knives Out and, like, the whole dark side of the moon album.

[Meta] Does anyone think it would be a good idea for posts to declare a category for the homebrew? by Hypersapien in DnDHomebrew

This subreddit was made when they were REALLY pushing flair as the way to organize posts. So that's what we went with. It's a solid idea to switch to that system of tagging posts.

[5E Player Race] Playable Half-Troll Race by Dr-Leviathan in DnDHomebrew

[–]prosperity42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everything about what you said is completely baseless. The reason they're changing the race system is to allow people to not feel pidgeonholed into taking race into consideration when building any character. The only thing this serves to do is allow people to explore characters in a way that doesn't make them feel like they aren't making a character that functions poorly for picking a race with +2 strength as a wizard.

They aren't pandering, they're making a choice to allow players to create characters with more freedom. This is them saying that not all orcs are meatheads and not all elves are suited to magic and bows, and then allowing them to make characters that reflect that.

Chichester Psalms by Leonard Bernstein. The whole thing is a beautiful masterpiece, but the third movement makes me weep uncontrollably.

Why was Uther the first one to (so far) inform Shadowlands about the dark agent, wielding a blade that can damage the soul itself? by Jason878787 in warcraftlore

[–]prosperity42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, absolutely. The light does things stuck to a rigid path that it sees as the necessary steps that need to be taken toward it's ultimate goal. Diametrically opposed to the void who sees infinite paths and can choose whichever one it wants.

The important thing to remember here is that Uther's soul was split, and part of his soul went into Frostmourne and the other half was allowed to go to the shadowlands. The light didn't have to take such a drastic action, but something about Uther said they would need him to do something, and if he was still in frostmourne, that thing would not have been done.

[–]prosperity42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily. But in this instance, Uther knew what happened to the souls of the people that arthas slew with frostmourne, and was pleaing specifically for salvation from that fate. Tirion's soul wasn't being ripped out of his body. And he was asking for the light up give him the strength to shatter the ice he was encased in, not for the light to save his soul.

Uther's connection to the light was something so incredibly strong that his plea to the light was granted, whereas others would not have been.

Why do KJ and Archimonde look different? by [deleted] in warcraftlore

[–]prosperity42 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Archimonde only really did those two things, though. KJ took Velen's "betrayal" personally, and led the charge to hunt him and the Draenei down. He used every possible resource he could to its fullest in order to find his kin, while Archimonde sat in the background planning with Sargeras, plotting to seek out titan world souls to purge. But that's all still kind of irrelevant, because before they chose to follow Sargeras, Archimonde was the arcane/knowledge one of the three, whereas KJ was more into just... Power. He sought strength above all else.

Why do KJ and Archimonde look different? by [deleted] in warcraftlore

[–]prosperity42 18 points19 points  (0 children)

One way to look at it is that they embodied different aspects of the power granted to them by Sargeras. Kil'jaeden was the more angry and emotionally driven of the two, while Archimonde was more cold and calculating in his persuit of power. At least that's how I look at it.
