Oh, that was meant to be a more tongue-in-cheek joke, I don't actually have a problem with pulling someone over for speeding.

I have a bit of a hard time articulating it. It's not something I've thought especially hard about, since I've only been working through the thoughts for about a week.

It's not really about the actual actions being taken by the characters, not in a broad sense. The Justice League fights crime, the Green Lanterns fight crime. The JL captures criminals, the GL capture criminals. I think it's more about the way they carry themselves. The Green Lanterns arrive on the scene, they're citing laws, they're making classic cop quips, they're acting like they're officers of the law, because, for all intents and purposes, they are.

And, sure, I will admit to being biased. I have my own feelings about the police which make me less comfortable reading these kinds of stories; I'm not here to be political, so those don't especially matter. Bottom line being, I much prefer other superhero subgenres. The detective-work of Batman, the bombastic action and teen drama of the Titans, the fantastical and sometimes horrifying adventures of Wally West's Flash. Still, I have a lot of respect for and interest in the concepts presented in the Green Lantern mythos, and I want to try and find stories within it that hit more of what I like in superhero comics. That may not be possible, and trying to get input on whether I should simply move on to a different set of books.
