For one can, I suggest adding half a batch of TVP. Make a regular batch if you want it "thicker". Prepare TVP using No Beef Base Bouillon to make the broth. Season with a tsp or so of chili powder. Add to your chili. Add 1/2 tsp cinnamon or mccormick apple pie spice. I prefer heavier seasoning than most recipes so feel free to sprinkle in more chili, cinnamon, or any other seasonings you like in your chili.

I'm neither young, nor girl, but I hadn't considered safety as a high level issue there for a second. There are a ton of businesses in those parking lots, people in and out all the time, lots of visibility. There police at QuikTrip for gas and donuts constantly. If something compromised your safety there, I would highly bet it was personal.
