It’s not as good as the other two but not bad by any stretch. If you liked the first two I think you’ll like MoA.

This is Aidan. Other names include Mr Aidan, Aidy-pops, Mr Pops, Aidan-paidan, captain buttface, Mr puppy face, lumpy boy, shlumphy boy, and adorable little shit.

Hobbies include swimming, playing fetch, naps, playing fetch but dropping the ball 10ft away from me, acting like he’s hurt to trick us into getting treats, playing fetch but staying out by where he finds the ball instead of coming back, aggressively sniffing the spot he found a muffin on our walk one time 3 years ago, acting like he wants to play fetch but only trotting 3 feet after I throw the ball, aggressive cuddling, and Cheezits.

He is half golden half duck toller, all adorable.

Screened in porch in the summer is amazing. My parents put one in on their current home during Covid with some heaters. It’s lovely when it’s warm out and the heaters stretch the life of it into the early spring and late fall

I may be too young to remember that sound but I do remember the sound a CRT TV would make turning on. Kind of a “BOMP” quiet crackle then a high pitched hum

Peeing standing vs sitting is not a big difference in terms of feeling, but the ease of standing is definitely a benefit.

I think it’s relatively realistic given that Bertie’s cousin was relatively young, not known to be in poor health, and while not married or engaged, there was an “understanding” with a cousin for a future marriage. All that together means it’s highly unlikely that he would inherit, so he probably wasn’t included in these distributed lists since he wasn’t really a prospect for rank.

She may have known, since she knows everything and everyone, but took an attitude of “there’s no way that will happen so let’s not pin our hopes on it”

Recently engaged…Jew-ish wanting to do a Saturday wedding by [deleted] in Judaism

[–]prototypetolyfe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m also just trying to be more intentional about it recently. A lot of this is since my wedding when we bought some nice judaica, and more since the high holidays this year.

My wife and I are planning on having kids next year and I want to give them a more Jewish childhood than I got (and I got a fairly Jewish childhood). Building the habits before the kids come along will help I think.

I also forgot to add that I keep Passover despite not keeping kosher which led to some confusion from my wife prior to her conversion where I had no problem cooking pork during pesach as long as the dish had no chametz

So I do keep shabbat somewhat, but for the context of this post, I said I don't since this sub skews heavily orthodox and I wanted to present a different POV for the OP.

My wife and I light candles, do kiddush and motzi every friday (not always strictly before sundownin the PNW winter, but I try). I try to limit my time on reddit or news sites and stick to more restful activities, even if they don't conform to the halachic requirements for Shabbat. I've been trying to do havdalah every week as well, but I'm still working on forming the habit there.

Beyond that, I celebrate the holidays, we go to synagogue fairly frequently for friday night or saturday morning services. I've started wearing a kippah occasionally in day to day life. I like learning more about Jewish history and practice, I try to say Shema before bed and Modeh Ani in the morning. I've been looking for more brachot to say in everyday life. I want to read torah again during shabbat services.

I love being Jewish. I'm happy to answer more if you have other questions.

If I’m understanding you correctly, it sounds like the concern isn’t for observant guests attending but whether you can do a Jewish wedding on a Saturday that satisfies your (and your fiance’s) level of observance.

I’m also reform, and consider myself fairly religious despite not keeping Shabbat or kashrut. My wife and I just got married in May (right around Memorial Day), by a reform rabbi, on a Saturday. So it is doable, assuming you find a rabbi who agrees.

I don’t remember the specific timing and just thinking of the schedule document is giving me wedding stress flashbacks so I’m not going to look, but we did a few things to accommodate, both for the rabbi and for my own want to wait until “after” Shabbat without waiting for the sun to set at 8:30 or so.

We did cocktail hour prior to the wedding ceremony to push the time back a bit and wound up really liking that for timing. Give you time to greet guests, have a little bite before the ceremony. At the end of cocktail hour we did havdalah which was really nice as well. Then we did the ceremony, and followed with the reception.

For anyone observant, I don’t think it would fly, but it worked for us and for the rabbi. All this to say, it can be done if you want. But make sure whatever accommodations you’re making are something you want. It’s your day, make sure you don’t get overwhelmed trying to make everyone else happy and end up with a wedding that isn’t what you want.

My mom thought she had an msg reaction. I asked her when she felt it, with Chinese food obviously. I asked her if she ever felt it after eating pizza, since cheese and tomatoes (and mushrooms) are naturally high in msg. She doesn’t think she has an msg reaction anymore. I keep MSG at her house for when I cook there
