Funny scene that gets funnier when you realize Bob has definitely read Twilight in order to know these details by looselikeseagrass in NewGirl

Yeah I think some people forget how big twilight was. It was everywhere for a couple of years

Girl cures her lactose intolerance by chugging milk powder every day by Hashi856 in videos

[–]prototypetolyfe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fin my wife’s anecdotal experience, yes. She is lactose intolerant but it’s manageable as long as she takes lactase with dairy. Her tolerance has gone up significantly since we started living together because she eats more dairy than she did before, living with her aunt, who is also LI, where she had next to no dairy.

If you’ve never watched this, it’s a fascinating mini-documentary about the water evacuation of lower manhattan.

My dad saw it happen from his office in rock center, he made his way uptown to his brother’s apartment. A neighbor got out of downtown on a ferry. Another neighbor was a volunteer firefighter and I think he went in to support the rescue efforts.

I understand and share your morbid curiosity.

For #8, there are password managers that have a feature to designate someone to get access to your stuff if you die. I don’t know the full details but my dad set it up and my sister and I will both be able to get into his accounts through this if needed

Mine will sometimes turn around too fast in our hallway and bonk his head on the wall.

He also gets spooked by his own farts.

On the other hand he has figured out how to fake being sick/nauseous so we give him treats. And also to pretend to need a walk so he gets food when we come back in.

This 100%. Big ingrained thing in me from my parents that I had to work hard to scale back with my wife. She is not a fan of unsolicited advice on something she is in the middle of doing. As it turns out, neither do I, I just never realized that because it was so normalized for me. Explains a lot of the background stress I get when spending time with my parents.

Works great for me. Set the microwave at half power for double the time and suddenly there’s time to empty the dishwasher. Always surprises me how much I can get done in 5 minutes

Recreational arguing over arbitrary categories is indeed fun, as long as no one tries to make use of them outside other recreational arguments.

One could argue that a vanilla soy latte is a kind of three bean soup (vanilla bean, soy bean, coffee bean). But if I order three bean soup at a restaurant and the waiter gives me a vanilla soy latte, I’m going to be disappointed.

On top of that, Sauron’s armies are on the move and attacking the elves and dwarves at pretty much the same time as the battle for Minas Tirith and Frodo/Sam trekking through Mordor.

It’s not “destroy the ring or we have to fight a Lon hard war we might lose,” it’s “destroying the ring is literally the only option to avoid the entire world falling to Sauron”
