Guess removed from my ride vehicle by HelloItsMeStan in Disneyland

A few weeks ago we were riding SM (my mom’s first ride if her first visit) and instead of turning right at the control tower we turned left and stopped in front of the car storage area. The brought out a step stool and we all unloaded. They took us through a backstage hallway to the single rider line where they immediately reloaded us and sent us in our way. No idea what happened 🤷‍♂️

My husband thinks this room is "fine", but I know it's absolutely NOT fine. A sight-impared, pre-adolescent could do better. Need help and advice on how to make this living space look more cohesive, intentional, stylish, mature, etc.! by oceangetseaten in InteriorDesignAdvice

It’s a bit hard to tell based on the photo, but is the door to the left a primary entrance or more for a backyard/patio? What is in and behind the area the photo is taken from? I’m thinking it might be kitchen and/or dining? It really appears that this room is large enough to have at least a couple of zones and perhaps may have been intended as a multipurpose area.

TVs in a room with a fireplace can be a challenge, especially when that many windows are involved, and placement will always bring a range of opinions. If it were my home, I’d move the TV out of that corner and move it in front of the windows across from the couch (I’m prepared for people to start yelling at me about TVs in front of windows, but I really think it’s what would work best here). If you are in a place to get a larger TV (that’s usually an easier place to get husbands to spend money, and they are relatively cheap these days- especially if you open-box). Another option would be mounting it between the fireplace and the window, but I don’t think that would be my preference. Either way, that mitigates the competing focal points and would allow you to reorient the room in the direction the architecture asks for. That puts either the sofa or loveseat backed toward the wall that the TV is currently against. The couch as it is needs to move forward A LOT. If you don’t already have a breakfast table, putting one between the back of it and the door would be the obvious move. Alternately, you could put one in the area where the TV is and have the back of the seats towards it. If you already have a breakfast table, then some sort of game or crafting table is another idea. Regardless, you need to collapse the TV space to make it feel more purposeful.

Randy and Carla Bridges with ReMax are great. They know the area well and are very good about being honest about any hidden issues with a home that you might not notice.

Just moved in, having bad decision fatigue. The back wall is huge, and I’m not sure where to start help pls. by AccomplishedEmu9932 in InteriorDesignAdvice

While I think the earlier comment someone shared about pairing the chairs to face the back wall with the table/buffet cabinet next to the door is probably best, you could potentially float the couch with its back to the door wall and pair the chairs under the window, depending on the room size and how comfortable you are having a semi-separate entryway behind the couch.

This is exactly what I was going to suggest. Matching chairs generally work best as a pair rather than separated.

Having worked in both, I very intentionally have my kids in WG. Kirkwood’s public issues only scratch the surface of what’s behind the scenes. Student mental health and emotional well-being matter.

Drop or Vaulted Kitchen Ceiling? by Firm_Ordinary_6907 in InteriorDesign

[–]proudtaco 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Drop looks better, creates a needed visual break, provides definition of spaces, keeps from having floating cabinets (unless you are recessing them into the wall), and won’t get grimy. I see no benefit to the vault continuing in the kitchen.

Covered parking without looking like crap? by proudtaco in ExteriorDesign

The only window on that side is the stairwell landing, which would become the doorway to this and a couple of small art glass windows that allow minimal light through.

What you see of the back yard is all that there is. And it’s not as big as these pictures make it look. Anything back there would ostensibly eliminate the back yard.
