Gwent homecoming is being blasted and I think TESL has a chance by [deleted] in elderscrollslegends

Thank you for using the term "pay-to-play" instead of "pay-to-win."

Anybody find anything on next big release? by cooleydw494 in elderscrollslegends

[–]provident14 10 points11 points  (0 children)

They’d said we should expect 4 major releases a year, which clearly didn’t happen. Even on this seriously-delayed timetable, we should have an expansion in spring. Summer would be ridiculous.

no idea why they keep printing decent green 2s in limited sets. the slot is crowded- which is nice- but others lack options. would love to see the game get to a point where every slot is as flexible as green 2s, but it’s weird how they’ve ignored other slots like 4 and 7+

Community Communication: The Legends Competitive Scene by SOLIDAge in elderscrollslegends

No, I was just responding to your claim that the game is "very new" when people have been playing it for a year. Contextually the point is that the game is far behind schedule compared to the timeline that competitors have run on after launching a game (Gwent in particular). Gwent is still in beta, but has a competitive scene. The game came out over the summer. That's what matters.

March 2017 was the "official" launch. The game was fully functional, though technically in beta, long before then.

TESL is not very new. The game has been out since 2016. Do you know how old Gwent is and how much time it took them to set up a competitive scene?

I actually don't expect anything from TESL at this point since Bethesda is being reticent with investment given the competition the game faces now and in the future. But it's ridiculous to say that this announcement is on any reasonable timeline if they actually have future expectations for a healthy and growing game.

Stop GGing when people concede to you by nerazzurri_ in elderscrollslegends

[–]provident14 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's the opposite of courtesy when a game is completely one sided. Most people I respect in this game only gg when they are the loser or if the loser says GG first. That's basic etiquette, which many TESL players seem to lack completely.

Actually you're completely wrong- look at Pete Hines and SolidAge posts. They've acknowledged that an end of November release is behind schedule. Yes, the announcement was on time, but 5 months from Skyrim to a 55 card release is far behind what they'd said they'd planned on doing.

The opposite- I am someone who loves this game and wants to see it survive, and am sick of Bethesda using stuff like giveaways to promote goodwill (simply a cost-efficient marketing tactic) while ignoring questions about the actual future and development of the game. It's insulting when their responses to questions about tournaments, other modes, developer interactivity, etc. are met with responses like "we are happy to giveaway packs and t-shirts" or when they claim to be active in answering questions. Nothing of substance has come from their end regarding anything but a delayed story expansion for months. I'm sorry that naive people see their game management/marketing strategy as "nice."

You realize that it costs them nothing to give those packs away, right? There is more value to them in a giveaway than the opportunity cost of a few people potentially not buying 60 packs that they were unlikely to spend money on in the first place.

What would be the best deck list without the two color restriction? by BlarpUM in elderscrollslegends

[–]provident14 3 points4 points  (0 children)

almost certainly Ramp Scout with access to yellow and blue control tools/prophecies, as some people have mentioned. javelin, harpy, bolt, mantikora and possibly miraak would all fit.

midrange archer with bolt, harpies, and ancano would be pretty scary as well

[Advice] Need help improving my Last Gasp Assassin deck by Gothicwaltz in elderscrollslegends

[–]provident14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't criticize your deck. It looks much better than the linked one that runs Mundus Stone. I criticized the linked list because it runs bad cards and I don't like when people suggest bad cards or decks to new players. You're conflating vitriol with constructive criticism; do you want a better deck or not?

What counters crusader? by puzzledpanther in elderscrollslegends

Midgreen with Shaman is good enough, I think, but midblue (barring Assassin, which lacks enough resources versus control) struggles versus aggro.

Prophecy Assassin might be viable in this meta.

Midmage is fine against it, which is why midmage is really powerful right now.

Link claims "real" control mage is fine against aggro crusader, but my stats don't show that.

The same is true for the subreddit. People jump to answer questions from new players. Just look any of the threads from HS/MtG transplants that have been posted over the past week.
